The graphics on FNR3 were great but I didn't really care for the gameplay, I would say that game is a rent

I have it on the PS2, which I'm selling. The Gameplay, IMO, is very good. If the gameplay for the Xbox 360 is comparable to the Ps2 version, It'll be an easy purchase for me.

I picked mine up three weeks ago now, and I can't imagine how I played games without it. I picked up GRAW and CoD2, which are fantastic. Two days ago I went out on a limb and got Oblivion, I liked Fable, but wasn't too keen on Morrowind, but the game totally blew me away and I haven't been able to put it down. The thing is like crack.

And Oblivion is the only rpg I have ever liked.

Oblivion did nothing for me, to tell you the truth I kinda hated it, wasn't fun for me at all.

How open-ended is Oblivion? I actually prefer a more linear RPG. Morrowind was really open and I never really stuck with it long enough to get to the point where it had me hooked.

Eh...you might not like Oblivion then...you can go linear and do this mission, then move onto the next, and then the next...or you can just go free and do one mission here, move on and do a quest somewhere else, etc.

Is there one big overriding story to it with a clear ending or are you just on your own to do what you want? I like exploring and wandering sometimes, but I need some kind of main quest to get me hooked.

I like Oblivion, but then I like TES series; it's pretty opened ended as you can play the game however you want to play it.

Plus theres quiet a bit of downloadable content available on XBL too.

There is one over-laying story...closing all the Oblivion gates but whatever you want to do inbetween finding the gates after they open is completely up to you

I've got Oblivion on the PC. I built a new PC for it.

I loved Morrowind - and haven't touched Oblivion since it came out. The game really didn't do it for me. They tried to add too much, and didn't polish it. Being in towns completely takes me out of the game:

"I hear there have been goblins around lately"
"Is that so?"
"Get away from me"
"haha, how about that?"
"yes, interesting!"

Just going to throw out there the fact that the 360s with the new production method that allows the system to run at a cooler temp won't be on the shelf till the new year... so if its not urgent, i'd wait...

I've read varying opinions on the intercooler. some people say it works great while others say its just circulating the same air while making the 360 even louder. If you have the optimal placement for the 360 and the power brick you probably don't need one. I'm trying to hold out till 07 for the quieter & cooler boxes but the fall/winter lineup is killer...
