Got the demo disc today, finally. Must say, I am impressed. This game went from a maybe to a must have. Got used to the controls after awhile. Switching weapons at first was tough but got used to it. Overall, very nice demo and can't wait for late August.

For me, story means little while free-roaming.

Wasn't interested in getting the game before I got the demo from Gamestop last week; now the game is a definite buy. It's a shameless GTA clone, but it's a shameless clone that does right by the Rockstar formula. It should be a big hit. And GTA should now benefit from having legit competition to push the genre forwardHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I'm disappointed...solely because it seems they went for the "shock" factor, not the "innovate" factor. I know some people like the copy cat stuff, but I just can't get into this game, especially since GTA:San Andreas is so much better. Some gripes:
-all the damn swearing. I know it's a "ghetto", but all the pedestrians wander around saying f-this, f-that, blah blah blah. Where's the humor and "realism" in the city environment?
-the drinking and food cost being insanely overpriced...not to mention the lack of point in it all. So I buy "bubbly", what for? To play the game in a hazy and disorienting view until he pukes it up after sprinting?
-the lack of character voice. I really like it in "Vice City" and "San Andreas" having the main guy talk.
-The blatant ripping off of the generic products and ads from GTA. The posters and names even look the same.
-Freckle *****es...enough said
-Michael Rappaport doing that sidekick voice (the guy from 'War at Home'). Repetitive and annoying.
I just wanted more innovations. Don't do all the winking crap to the censors that GTA did...go out and do it! Have the flirting prostitutes and show the "Hot Coffee", have real open ended gameplay where if I kill the guy giving me the mission the game still goes on! Allow me to beat the hell out of a shop keeper w/o him somehow hitting the alarm! Make the cops pursue with more intelligence and not forget about you!
All that being said, I do like the aiming system...but having multiple targets may be a huge issue in the final game.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

I agree with some of your points but this will hold me over for the next GTA. GTA is king and Saints row is a copy, and you know the next GTA will blow saints row out of the water.*************************
