I think this is much better than the RCA tv you posted a link to. I looked at both and purchased this one. I love it.

Hitachi's are good also. But my personal opinion, I would stay away from CRT Rear Projection.

If I had the choice between DLP and CRT I would choose DLP also. However if he is looking to stay around $1000 I thought that tv was much better than the RCA. He may also want the larger screen size and/or could use the difference of the two tv's to spend on a surround sound system or another 360

That is a CRT TV. One thing that you do have to consider though is room size. You do not want to be sitting too close to a TV that large. The picture won't look as good as should and you will fry your eyes. It is just something to keep in mind.

I think im gonna focus on selling my 360 stuff..then see how much money i have..Then seeing if i need to sell my TV..THENNN buying a TV.

Bergie, I also think the Hitachi is a better choice if he sticks w/ CRT RP.

At Best Buy, when you spend $999 or more you get a free surround sound system, but I would stay away from RCA. I think he liked that deal, but again the Hitachi is better over the RCA.

If I could only spend the amt that he can, I would go with a smaller DLP.

they dont transfer at all? thats my brothers main concern. he wants one from a store vs. ebay because of the warranties being sold instore only

What about xbox warranties? Can one buy one off a used system that was bough in store months ago

It transfers, I just called Gamestop. As long as Kev gives Rub the receipt w/ warranty he's cool.

So i give him the warranty receiept..the one that says my name and were i live and he can go to gamestop and get his name on it?

How much are do you think this is worth ?

Also my warranty is a year, if you use it you have to repay 40 dollars for another year. My first 360 crapped out..I got this new one ( that you might get) 6-03-06 so its fairly new

Yes, that is correct, you have to pay 5 extra bucks a month for HD, plus if you don't already have digital cable you will have to add at least the cheapest Digital package to get the channels, that will run you about 12 extra bucks as well if my memory is right (May also depend on your area)

So if you dont have digital you are looking at adding about 17 bucks to your monthly comcast bill.
