Re: best place for 360 instore warranty?
Has anybody had any experience with Professional Satellite Repairs?
They had my 360 for about a week, and are shipping me a refurb sometime next week. PSR's staff has been friendly and straight-up over the phone, but I just wanted to know the quality and duration of the mileage of a refurb sent through them (opposed to MS, but I think they're getting it from them anyhow).
I can live without my Gamer Score (which was a legitimately earned score nearing 13,000--thank Gamefly), regardless of its size, as long as I get a working 360.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Re: best place for 360 instore warranty?
In store warranties are usaully major rip-offs and have fine print on what it actually takes to replace your product. For example, in order to replace your 360 at Circuit City a complicated request to the company must be made to the company and you can't just walk into thew store and get a new one, the company has to review you request and then eventually ships a new one to you, replacing the old.
The MS warranty is the way to go. And plus if they screw up fixing your 360 theres a good chance you could get a free game/accessory out of it for your pain and suffering.
Unlike the PS2 which replaced f'ed up consoles for free, the MS warranty is a MUST to preserve your system and your wallet.
Just make sure though when you call you get someone who is competant and can speak perfect English. I called 3 times before I was able to get a person that wasn't from a foreign country and could only speak broken English. This is important beause you give them vital info that confims your warranty, and if they suck at English then you are screwedLast edited by redxiiixi; 08-04-2006, 08:00 PM.Originally posted by BlzerNo, I don't have anything better to do. that makes little sense to me. is it that true or should i take my business elsewhere?Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

At Gamestop/EB, it's a 1 yr warranty for $39.99. You go to the store with your system, they test it while you wait at the store, and if it's not working they give you another system. Once you have used up the warranty on that system, you have the option of buying a new warranty on the new system you bought or have no extended warranty at all.
MS is $32 for 1 yr and $65 for 2 years. You call the xbox # and they send you a "coffin" box. You put the system in it and ship it out. Once they receive your system, they either try to fix it or they just send you out a system from the pile of refurbs so you may not get your same system back. It gets shipped back to you and better hope that it works, as I've heard too many horror stories.

Originally posted by candyman56To add to that, I found out today that Best Buy it's $49.99 for 2 years has a similar policy to CC. You have to go to the store and they ship a box out to you. You place the 360 in the box snd ship to their service center. They review what you sent and then they send you a BB gift card for the amt that you spent to go to the store to buy another 360 or buy whatever you want since it's a GC.

After the 90 days if your unit fails you call the insurance company and they give you a number you take with your system to your local EB.
They hand you a new system and you have the option of buying a new contract. Because if it breaks again your $crewed. This was explained by to of my freinds who are EB Store Managers.
CB could validate this as well.Comment
