Then his regular computer sound wouldn't work, right?

As a matter of fact, I don't know why you would run the sound through the computer. That would mean the computer has to be on anytime he wanted to play his 360 w/ sound, correct?

Maybe I'm off base, but whenever I play my Xbox on my computer monitor, it never gets plugged into the computer... It gets plugged into what is basically a KVM with audio support... Then flip the switch to go between computer and xbox.

Fish, do you run your sound through your comp?

Mgo, I've tried all three slots and none work.

And it's not like the line in doesn't work, cause my speakers work when i put them in there.

Oddly enough, when I plug the Y adapter to my speakers, it doesn't work either.

Try the coupler... If it doesn't work, just take it back. But what it will do is basically change the male end of the y adpater to female and you can plug the speakers into that.

when i use monitor,i have to turn my pc on to get sound... tried to direct connect vga(red,white) part to my speakers and i cant control volume .its really loud,so for now i just turn pc on ,would like not to have to turn it on....

I think you mean RCA (the red and white audio cables)... If your speakers don't have a volume control, then yea, that's gonna happen.... I don't know what you could do about that. New speakers with a built in volume control? Any other options aren't really cost effective.

Its weird 'cuz my old skool creative speakers work fine, and even the cheap *** dell speakers work too (although the sound quality is crap with those)...

I have some old boston speakers( 2004) they have volume control ,and a sub woofer where the power comes from....but no luck unless either 1- i keep it so loud i cant think,or 2 i turn pc on and enjoy it that way.....
