Looks like the discount to $199 wasn't enough for Sony to crack Nintendo's dominance with the DS and DS Lite.

True, especially when the DS Lite is $129 and the UMD format has been about as popular as a remake of "Ishtar."

Yep, for that price, you can buy 2 DS', go get a game for 30 bucks more and both DS' can play the same game against each other. And Sony wonders why the PSP is getting murdered in Japan and here.

Overpriced? A gig stick has a retail value of $60, the game is $20, movie $15 and the system is $199. They should cut the base system more, but to expect the PSP to be less then it is now is unrealistic. The DS's pricing is more suspect considering the N64 technology...

They should sell this thing at $149 if they want to compete with DS.

EG makes a good point here, $40-$50 for a handheld is crazy. Especially when this system is a "Port-Pit".

If you want sports games then the psp is really your only option on the go. As for it being a port pit, I am okay with it when games like Mlb 06 the show, NCAA football (fixed version) are brought over.
