For the people waiting in line... What time are you leaving and when do you think most people are going to leave to get in line at places like Best Buy and CC??

Me <- I am going to check stores after I get off work.

Best bet is to go for 24 hours early. 360 in my old town was around 18 hours at WM and 24 at best buy

My Best Buy has 4 people as of 5PM in front of it. I would say go Thursday morning at the latest.

This is just crazy that there are 4 peeps out there already.

For all that will go early make sure, if there are more than 20-24 people ahead of you, ask how many consoles they have, but I bet they start tuning people away.

Got a call last night from Gamestop manager that I will NOT get a preorder as I was # 12 out of 14 and they were 3 short but I am first on the next shipment. Then I get offered the free DVD or used game for $19.99 if a buy PS3 when it gets in. Now I'm thinking wtf can I buy with $19.99 since I only have a 360. Do they have used 360 games for $19.99? Anyway nice freebie and if someone does not claim the system or if he gets an extra one I'm cool but then I selling it on Ebay anyway. Only downside is I had it listed on Ebay and as of this morning was $1200 w/2days to go but now I have to cancel it, PEACE!

Just went around to see how many campers were at the stores around me. Best Buy had over 30, circuit city and walmart around 20 a piece, and target about 15. Looks like im gona have to drive out of town to find a place to go.

CC had over 60 people in line last night! My brother's friend being one of them. Crazy... and it was raining last night and suppose to rain later tonight and snow/rain tomorrow.

the BB in knoxville has about 10 tents lined up on the sidewalk as of about 30 mins ago. Played the ps3 for about 10 minutes, nba 07 is absolute trash.

By now, almost everyone's heard of the Japanese PlayStation 3 hoarder who managed to score over 100 PlayStation 3s in the interest of selling them online, but an Associated Press report suggests scalper's plans may not turn into the tens of thousand's he'd been hoping for.

Here's the problem, with thousands upon thousands listing PS3's come Friday, you may have a hard time getting over 1500. I expect 50,000 PS3's on Ebay by Saturday.

I could see a situation where some crazy number like 25% of PS3 are being resold at launch.

I dont think I'm going to be selling it anymore. I told myself I'd only sell mine if the market was hovering aroung $1800 per. From what I'm looking at now, no ones really getting it above $1500 on Ebay and when theres 20,000-30,000 on Ebay Friday, that price is going to be even less.


Anyways else think so?

Agreed i'm leaning on keeping mine as well. I was planning on getting one anyway.

I just got back from my local bestbuy and there was about 15 people with chiars setup, no tents, I was laughing all the way home because it's going to rain tonight.

The unfettered online marketplace for such items as Elvis memorabilia and Ferraris is imposing restrictions on the PS3, which is expected to become one of the hottest holiday gifts when it hits stores Friday.

Only established eBay Inc. vendors — those who have racked up comments from at least 50 previous customers and have positive ratings of at least 98 out of 100 points — can list PS3s before Friday. Each vendor can only list only one PS3 per eBay account.

The listing must include a photo of the pre-order receipt, and the seller must guarantee shipment within 30 days from the date of purchase. Before Friday, PS3s can be listed on eBay only in auction formats — not as "buy it now" items.

Potential buyers, trying to avoid long lines, rain checks and empty-handed sales clerks on Friday, have already bid up PS3s to $2,300. The suggested retail price is $500 for a basic PS3 with a 20-gigabyte drive and $600 for a version with 60 gigabytes, built-in wireless and a Blu-ray DVD player for high-definition video.

Sony Corp (NYSE:SNE - news)., which has already delayed the PS3 launch twice, expects to have 400,000 PS3s available for its U.S. launch. EBay listed 3,144 PS3s or related items by Wednesday morning.

The restrictions, part of eBay's standing policy for all "pre-sale" items, also apply to Nintendo Co.'s competing Wii console, which goes on sale Sunday. EBay had 2,354 listings for Wiis and related items.

"We've seen a history with highly anticipated game consoles in extremely short supply during their initial launch," eBay spokeswoman Catherine England said. "With the Xbox, we saw a high number of well-intentioned sellers unable to meet obligations due to restricted supply."
