I could say the same thing about ticket scalpers. The Canucks reserved a certain amount of seats for families to selected games on family nights. The scalpers bought most of the seats to flip them around for a profit. This forced
the Canucks to change their policy. Now you must pick up the tickets at the box office and you have to have a child with you.

Now if I find out PS3's sell for over $1500+ on ebay, I need to get my hands on a couple of them to sell them for a profit.... I Keed I Keed
First off, anyone who would pay over $600 for a system is an idiot and second, anyone who buys tickets from a scalper are also idiots.

I picked sell too but I don't necessarily condone it. This was that same dilemma that we had when the 360 came out. I think that it's a patient thing. Those who are willing to pay that much for it either are fanatics that need to reevaluate what their life means, rich people who don't mind spending some loot to help out the common man while getting what they want, or people who should have stayed in school a little longer. I was the first one when the 360 came out. Wait, so people are selling their preorders for the PS3 on ebay??

I still play my launch PS2 until this day. I bought a slim one, but gave it to my sister. She dropped it and had to buy another. The launch system that I kept is still working. The disc drive sounds like it's about to kill over when it starts up, but after that, it works flawlessly.

I also have had zero problems with my 360, thus far. I did buy the warranty, just in case. I had two by launch day and sold one of them to WTF for exactly what I paid for it. His died, mine lives on, so far. I really have more faith in my PS2 outlasting my 360.

It's all in how you take care of things and some luck is also involved, but to say that the launch PS2s were **** is stretching it. It's not a fact, it's your opinion.

            Re: Keep or Sell

If you have a 360, sell the PS3, save the profit to get a PS3 later.

If you want a PS3 sooner than later (with or w/o a 360), keep it for a while--you'll still make profit on a gently used one near Christmas. Don't Rambo the box, wrapping, and manuals!

If you want a Wii, sell it, buy a Gamecube, go back to old-school gaming mannerisms of playing the game while "piloting" the controller. (Kidding!)

If you can wait or don't care for the PS3, then just sell it, pay some bills, buy tickets to a bowl game, whatever.

I'd realize that's something called capitalism. The PS3 is not some utopian device created for a socialist environment. It's a popular electronic device produced for capitalist markets.

I'd also get a grip and realize it's a game console, not a cure for world hunger and cancer in a black plastic box.

Buy low, sell high. It's called business.

If you can get two, buy two and sell them.

The opportunity to make $400+ is much greater than the ability to play a new console when it's initially released.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or if you already knew this info but Ebay has a new policy that states the seller must ship the goods within 30 days of payment from the buyer.

That might effect some people that, in the past, pre-ordered a system and then sold it on Ebay before they got it.

I can understand where you are coming from. But is it the sellers fault. Sony should have put out more consoles, then we wouldnt be having these problems. That if you want to call it a problem. Those of us who really want one and isnt welling to pay over 600.00 for one. We're going to have to chill and wait until the maddness is over.

Which might not be a bad idea considering their opening lineup is paper thin. You'll have this great new console and only 1 game to play on it. Or PS2 games.

If 2K can actually make a baseball game that is close to the greatness that MLB:The Show is then I'll have no reason to trade in my 360 for a PS3.

Paper thin? It's no worse than the ps2 launch titles that had the fireworks game fantavision. PS2 didn't have a decent game for many months.

I don't see the ps3 lineup being that different than the 360's personally.

Oh, and I say sell it.

Exactly. Which is why I waited at least a year to buy any of those consoles.
My comment wasn't meant to be a slap on Sony. Just the rediculous craze during new console releases.
