Battlefield 2142...
Anyone planning on picking this one up next week? Comes out Tuesday or Wednesday I believe. Looks like it's gonna be a good one. The biggest complaint that I've read about it is that you'll need a high end PC to run the game smoothly. Thoughts?

I'll definately read some reviews...since I've heard the PC versions of 'Battlefield' are much better than the consoles (I really didn't like BF2 on 360).I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

warning about the game.. my bud apparently is telling me that this game installs spyware onto your computer - scans it to see surfing habits to then determine what ads they will show... hence it will send that info back to others.. just fyiComment

Because of ads? Okay, to each their own.
I got a call from EB Games earlier today saying to come pick it up. They aren't supposed to release until tomorrow, but I'm not going to complain. Just need to find the time to get over there.
EDIT: And before you think otherwise, yes I understand what they are doing and yes I understand what they can do.

i have the game and i have yet to see any ingame ads....hell i dont know what to look for.....im too busy dodging the walkers and tanks...
besides im sure there are people out there that will figure out how to shut these off!!Comment

I personally find the addition of spyware to any game to be sick. We pay for the game, not to send them information. I can understand it in free software and so on where each side gets something. But when I pay for a product, I'm paying for that product, not for EA to track my internet usage.Comment
