The graphics still look like the old N64 days, but it's cheap and renovating. If you want graphics go the more expensive route in PS3 or X360.

Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
Wii will turn out to be a hit this generation, for the fact it's revolutionary "virtual" system and the fact that it carries a Nintendo game library. So many goodies like Zelda that's featured in the video below.

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
Is it actually Link you play as this time or another long, lost brother/cousin story? Not like it matters, just wondering.
Also, is the difference between the GC version and the Wii version going to be substantial or limited to the Wii-Mote features and possibly better graphics? I may have to dust of the Gamecube for this if it going to be a decent version of the game.Comment

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
The only thing that I know is different from the GC and Wii versions is the obvious controll difference and the difference in graphics. I'm pretty sure you play as Link throughout the game and apparently he turns into a wolf during some levels.

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
Thanks. I was wondering if the main character is Link or not. The kid you play as on Wind Waker is a distant relative of his or something like that, it seemed like a bit of a cop-out to making up another story about Link and Zelda.Comment

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
Besides the difference in controls, the Gamecube version is in 4:3 (Full screen) v. 16:9 (Wide screen). I think they are both 480p, however.
Also, the game is flipped on the Wii - Link is right-handed and all the levels are a mirrored version of the Gamecube.
It is Link, by the way. I think it is supposed to be 800 - 1000 years before Wind Waker.Comment

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
I may just be really confused though.
According to the IGN review WW takes place 100 years after the N64 game, so it has to be a different person, right? Especially sinc e it starts on your birthday.....I don't know, I give up.Last edited by CM1847; 11-02-2006, 08:48 PM.Comment

Re: Zelda on Wii..just two weeks away
I think his name was Link but it wasn't the same Link as the previous games. I remember at the beginning there are tales of an old warrior who wore the green suit. I remember your character gets embarassed about having to put on the silly green suit at one point.

Story of WW
Set hundreds of years after the events of Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker finds the hero Link in a sea scattered with several islands, which necessitates frequent sailing and naval combat. Link lives with his grandmother and younger sister Aryll on Outset Island, one of the few inhabited islands in the Great Sea. The people of the Great Sea pass down a legend of a prosperous kingdom with a hidden golden power. An evil man found and stole this power, using it to spread darkness until a young boy dressed in green sealed the evil with the Blade of Evil's Bane. The boy became known as the Hero of Time and passed into legend. One day the sealed evil began to return, but the Hero of Time did not reappear. The inhabitants of the Great Sea are unsure of the kingdom's fate, but it is clear that this legend is the story of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
When children of Outset Island come of age they are customarily dressed in green, like the Hero of Time. The elders hope to instill the courage of the Hero of Time. It is Link's birthday as The Wind Waker opens, and he receives the familiar green clothes and cap. Aryll's present to Link is permission to use her telescope. As he looks through the telescope, he sees a large bird, the Helmaroc King, carrying a girl to a nearby forest. After retrieving a sword, Link sets out to investigate. Link rescues the girl, only to have Aryll kidnapped by the Helmaroc King as he returns.Comment

I think the "Hero of Time" is completely seperate from Link. Link came after.
