I thought it would be when the PS3 came out, until I saw the price on the PS3...wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for them to drop the price now, since they are already priced well below.

What you have started to hear about is new bundles....that's probably where they are headed first.

its $200 cheaper than PS3. And so far its strong on titles and accessories.
Give M$ their money, they deserve it.....

But just to give you a heads up. A guy from M$ said last month and confirmed it, as Aholbert32 stated, when the Playstation 3 drops its price....and we all know that ain't happening...

He also stated, there is no need in a price drop, its selling fine as is, and with the upcoming titles on the way he doesn't see that changing.

Actually that's pretty normal and the 360 is on the rise. People aren't going to go out and massively buy a new console, especially with the big price tag. I look for th PS3 to have a comparable beginning to the 360, though it may suffer a worse fate with the competition.

As you tried to make a point you made yourself look bad PK...first of all look at those numbers .....

It sold 132,000 less than a DS, that cost $129.99 (so)
It sold 17,000 less than the PS2 that cost $129.99 (so)

it sold 218,000 in just one month at $399.99 or even $299.99....I see that as a victory...seems they sold larger from a $$$ stand point.

The handheld and the 6 yr old system are much cheaper than the 360. Its not a fair comparison.

It's a big deal because I'm not spending 600 bucks for a console, warranty, extra controller, and a game. There are a few games I'd like to play on the 360, but the price rules that out right now.

PK, how can you compare the DS and PS2 which are both at $129.99 to a system that's $299 and $399? With both systems being so cheap, people are eating up the PS2 and DS like no tomorrow.

I bet that the DS & PS2 continues to blow past the PS3 and 360 for a few months into next year.

It does matter if you think people who get turned away from a PS3 will buy a 360 you have another thing coming... the only way people will buy a 360 is if you drop the price it to high and no one really checking for it who already has one at that price range... I'll just wait it out or I'm not buying a 360... I rather a PS3 since it has HD and HDTV games.
