360 Warrany ? - what would you do?

OK, here's my situation. I have a launch 360, had maybe 5 freezes over the past 11.5 months. My one year warranty runs out on the 22nd. When I bought the warranty, the guy who I always talk to in the EB told me to bring the system back in before the warranty runs out so I could get a unit with all the kinks worked out. I constantly leave my 360 on for hours at a time, for example, I turned it on about noon and it's still on. I've play it for about 2 hours then watch football for a couple of hours, then come back to it for an hour or two.

Would you guys keep the launch unit and take your chances or take the system back and pay another $30-$40 for a new 1 year warranty? I'm thinking I might as well just eat the price for a one year warranty and that way I'm covered in the future.

Go for the $40 take it back + leaving it on that long is not good imo.

I personally regret getting the warranty, but I can't tell you to not renew yours.

If it breaks, you won't regret it.

I still will. As long as I don't do anything to break it, then I don't need a warranty.

You can trust yourself not to break it, but I babied my first 360 and it bricked regardless.

Hopefully, you won't ever see what I and many others mean.

My point is, if it breaks because of something MS did or didn't do, they will have to fix it regardless with you having to pay.

Your lucky man. I fear to keep mine on longer than 2-3 hours to play games let alone to just sit there on for a few. LOL!

Check with your EB dude because prior to the EB/GS merger EB's 12 month extended warranty starts after the first 90 days. So you really should have up to Feb 22, 2007 before it expires. (90 days +12 months =15 months)

If you are a good customer of theirs they should honor the original EB warranty. The new EB/GS covers you for a total of 12 months.

I am definitely saying get the new one with the new warranty. It's really the only safe way to go. Back all of your stuff on a memory card and you are good to go. I have a 2 year from best buy and I will definitely be trading it in for a new one in 2 years.

Trust me. It is the law and as long as you know what you are talking about when talking to them, they will have to abide by it. It has been talked about to death in other threads but it is true.

If true, I have learned something tonight. I wish that law crossed over into all goods purchased.
