Re: IGN Wii Sports Review
Honestly, I would have MUCH preferred if the Wii came with two Wiimotes and two nunchuks than a tech demo like Wii Sports.
I understand Nintendo's logic, as they want something the buyer can play right away and show friends. But so many of the Wii games just BEG for multiplayer play, yet the system only comes with one Wiimote-nunchuk set. So the Wii basically is a $310 system, not a $250 system, since an extra Wiimote-nunchuk set costs $60.
eBay will be flooded with Wii Sports within a month as people tire of it. In the long run, the customer would have been served much better with an extra set of controllers than a throwaway game. But Nintendo isn't stupid -- it knows that peripheral purchases equal profits and that Wii Sports will serve as a built-in tech demo for every Wii sold.
Take care,
PK
Yes, these companies do that so they can make money off of accessories. Just like with the Wii, if you want to play Gamecube games, your being forced to buy a memory card + a cube controller so Nintendo profits from that also. What are we going to do, it's been like this for years.Comment

Re: IGN Wii Sports Review
Why would someone buy Wii Sports on ebay when the game is packed with every single unit? I wish it came with extra controllers also, but that won't happen at this point. Just like I wish the 360 would have come with additional controllers. The last system to release with 2 controllers was the SNES.

Re: IGN Wii Sports Review
You never know, they may take the Wii Sports out of the pack-in after a few months.
I agree with you, the system should have came with Wii Sports + an extra set of Wiimote/Nanchuck to drive home that the system is geared towards multiplayer/interactivity.Comment

Re: IGN Wii Sports Review
Hopefully PK you will get back into console gaming soon and maybe the Wii could be your answer. If your enjoying the DS Lite, I think that the Wii is going to offer the same kind of gameplay options. I can understand that your waiting this out and might even skip this generation of gaming due to the concers/comments that you have posted previously. My wife and I are excited that Trauma Center is coming to the Wii as it was really fun on the DS. With the Wiimote/Nanchuck, you will have the same interactivity as the stylus + more for that game.

During lunch today, I figured out how much it would cost for me to get a 360, warranty, two or three games, Xbox Live and a Charge and Play Kit, including tax: About $600.
Then I thought about all of the cool things I could buy or do with 600 bones, and any desire I had for a 360 or even a Wii faded away almost immediately.
Take care,

Re: IGN Wii Sports Review
I bought into the "next gen" more for the multi-purpose functionality than just the games...for gaming only I would agree that all the new consoles are pushing the top end of an acceptable price structure.Comment
