Neither do I. Again unless they are filled with cut scenes etc..

no, what the other guy said, he said games will struggle to fit on DVD's.

P.S, Resistance: Fall of Man, Between 12-15 hours of single-player action, thats takes up 17.74 gigs, a lot of garbage somewhere.

I highly doubt that developers will exceed 1 DVD on a consistant basis. Like Skyboxer said, Blue Dragon is probably cutscene filled.

Plus, this is the first big game over in Japan in terms of RPG. I remember reading this last month and was like holy crap!

"On October 19, 2006 all 10,000 Blue Dragon preorders bundled with a limited edition Xbox360 Core system were sold-out in Japan. 90,000 additional Xbox360 sold the same day."

As long as it isn't in the middle of some intense scene...this is zero-impact. 3 disks didn't detract one bit from FF7, IMO.

Agreed. I'm sure if multi disc games become a necessity, developers will make the disc transition as painless as possible.

Re: Resistance = 17.75GB of garbage

Why is everyone shocked, this article is late. Way late. The Resistance developers said weeks before the console even launched that they weren't at 22GB's, but at 17 GB's instead. Nobody lied. It would be foolish to believe that a launch game is going to take up 22 GB right off the bat. Developers are still learning how to code for the system, etc...

And yes, Blue Dragon is 3 Discs, and no; from reviews around the online point of view, it isn't cut-scene filled.

I guarantee Final Fantasy XIII will surpass 25GB's if not 30.

Blu-Ray will eventually be justified, you can't always expect everything to fall into place right away.

Re: Resistance = 17.75GB of garbage

I could care less what space gets used up or if I have to go through 3 DVDs to play an RPG. We did it on the PS1 and the PS2, so what makes this any different? Nothing. You just figure you have a heck of a nice looking game in Blue Dragon. A certain part of the map on each DVDs. Its' like how it used to be... you get through one area and you move to the next. When you have to go back, take the DVD out and go from there... heck they could do some small caching on the Hard Drive where you're asked to put the disc in that has the next part of the game you're going too... but have a small window that you still have to run your charcter too, like a small path way, and while you're doing that it would stil keep the game going and then you'd have a seemless load to the next area.

There's all sorts of things they can do.

Again... switching DVDs makes no difference to me. As long as the gameplay expierence is good, that's all that matters.

who gives a damn? as long as i'm not switching discs every 30 minutes i could care less how much space is contained on each one.

Multi-disc games is no big deal for me just as the lack of rumble in the PS3 controller is for others.
