This stuff is just initial testing, as it's too expensive for common people to pirate bluray disks.
I don't think Sony is really worried about that. The honest gamers who pay for their music, movies and games far out way the crooks. Sony will try and minimize their losses with firmware updates like the PSP.

MS and Sony knows you can't stop the bad guys and they never will. All they want to do is just slow them down and make it real frustrating for the casual user to even think about pirating software or movies.

I was thinking of this very thing today at Church. Everything about the Xbox and everything that has and will follow it goes under a very thorough thought process that asks questions that get answered in a very structured way, and those answers dictate their approach with what is Xbox.

I'm not saying this doesn't happen with Sony, heck it had to have with the success they have had in the past decade. You could argue that they didn't have substantial competition in Sega and Nintendo, but what is happening now is almost storybook with this company. It seems every week there is some type of controversial news that comes out. Although, we have to admit to the reality that many get warm and fuzzy when they read anything negative about the PS3. Many want this system to fail (for whatever reasons).

Could it be that MS has skillfully made themelves out to be the humble underdog here, and in the end, the Great Evil (Sony) will fall to the purist of gaming consoles (Xbox 360)?
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Microsoft is rich because of 2 things, and 2 things only.
        1. Windows
        2. Microsoft Office

That's the easy answer but the truth is they listen to their customers. Whether it's Windows XP, Vista , Office, Microsoft Money, XBL, Xbox 360 the fact is they listen to their customers and that's how they develop their future products.

You cannot play the ripped movies from the HDD. Nor can they be re-authored to another format or to another BD. So in essence, you can just read the files no more no less.
