Launch with I don't believe a lot of mileage. I can go days at a time without firing it up."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
My launch 360 worked perfectly with no hiccups until I updated when I was prompted to when I put GOW in on November 7th. The very next time I turned it on I got the 3 red lights. I sent mine in, which MS paid for, and I received a new 360 in return. I have been gaming for 20 years that was the first and only console I have ever had die.Comment

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
Mine died after 5 months. And I didn't even have a "launch day" unit, I got one in January. Died in May after five months of trouble-free enjoyment. My new one has been working fine (knocking on wood).Comment

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
I haven't had any problems with mine yet (bought in early April). Since I don't have an extended warranty, I would rather buy a new one with a replacement plan if mine ever dies than pay the repair fees to get someone else's refurbished system. I've seen too many reports of people having to send it in multiple times while many others never have problems. IMO, it looks like faulty systems are still time bombs as you put it, even after the refurb.Comment

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
Yeah, I'm sure that's what they've been doing. My original was purchased on launch and had a 10/16/05 manufacture date. It broke down in June of this year and the refurb they sent me back had a manufacture date of Nov '05. That one broke down this past Saturday. I'm hoping I get one of the newer builds, this time. I've read that the newer ones are running quieter and cooler.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
Not to mention there are many people who aren't responding because a)They don't have a launch unit or b)They've never had issues so they don't even go into these "Dead 360" threads. Preople that have had issues are more likely to follow these threads than people who are happily gaming without problems.Comment

Re: Launch 360 Consoles?
I fired up my 360 today and the DVD drive is sounding a bit louder than usual. I gotta wonder if this thing is on it's last legs or not, I hope it doesn't decide to croak anytime soon.Comment
