    BITTERSWEET.

So today was very interesting. I finally locked up a Wii for christmas which felt really nice. Seeing I really wanna surprise my little brother with it and all. Then when I got home from work, my 360 has finally decided to die.

Believe it or not though this thread has a purpose, haha. I called Microsoft and everything, and there paying for the repair since I bought it on launch, but there making me pay to ship it to them. I thought they were supposed to send me a box for me to put it in, that had pre-paid postage on it. Then I just sent it back to them. Instead the "agent" told me to find any box it would fit in and sent it to an address that they gave me. Is this how its supposed to work? Or was the "agent" wrong?

Nope the agent was correct. MS changed their policy recently. The shipping was $18 for me.

By gosh, it better not be that way if you bought the two year warranty from MS... It clearly states that they pay for shipping to and from. And I'm getting ready to send mine back again.

Mine wasn't a paid warranty though. I just was under warranty cause I bought a launch system.

Yeah I had to ship my 2nd 360 back this way. The first one they sent a box out with the shipping paid for.

Shipping is included with the warranty. I just sent back a dead 360, last week.

Darn is because I keep hearing how launch systems are dying week by week. I'm scared because I have a launch system and the timing is just taking too long. I hope it lasts forever but I'm not sure it will. Definitely hoping that it holds up until I get a more solid job. Good thing I still have the original box. By the way, what is the deal with those who bought the warranties from EBgames and Gamestop?? Do those people get an extension?

yep, I had to send mine back and they didn't send me a box.

I sent it back in its original box but they never sent me the box back!

That kind of ticked me off...oh well.

The only thing is that if you bought the EB warranty before the merger you actually get 3 extra months. I bought my system on 11/21/05 and my EB warranty ends on 2/20/07.

My plan is to wait until the 360's with the new processors come out and ship mine in for "repair." Maybe I can score a new one. I have only had 4, maybe 5 freezes.

I was trying to figure out how I could do that for my system too even if I don't have the warranty. I want to get a new processor but I don't know if I'll have the money to fool around. I'm a cheap skate somewhat. I don't know if I want to send in my box though. Would be like they're ripping me off. They could reuse it for a system.
