I can't stress it enough, for $40 bucks or so, you can go with a wireless router. No more unplugging, and plugging your PS3/Wii/Computer* up to an ethernet cable. Eventually you can pick up a 360 adapter for cheap on eBay or Amazon.

      * I think you have those consoles to hook up online. Sorry if you don't.

He'd be better off getting a wireless router at $40, no real reason to mess with wires since there is no need.

Thanks McCoy but I went to Office Depot today and tried something similar to that made by Linksys and the Wii did not connect to the internet.

I shot off an email to Nintendo to see if there's a way to just connect the broadband modem to the Wii.

Like I had mentioned earlier Holic, my only computer that I use/trust on the net is a Mac. They are know to be pretty crappy when it comes to using a Airport card for wireless access to the net.

It's no big deal for me changing cables, I don't mind it a bit.

Gotcha man, forgot you had a Mac. Still though, getting a wireless router would be the way to go for you bro. Let me explain.

Here is a picture of a wireless router. Notice you connect your cable modem to the slot to the left. Then you can use the 4 wired slots for your already Laptop/PS3/Xbox 360. Then the wireless part would be handy for the Nintendo Wii.

You could still access the internet at home just like you do now, except with a router.

Anyway bro, this is my last post suggesting it. I don't want to seem pushy, or anything. But I honestly think a wireless router is your best bet. It gives you what you need right now, with the options of upgrading later on ie; Wireless adapter for the 360, etc.

                Sorry.

I just copped a router (wifey was hogging the internet with her E-Bay biz), and I tell you my man...everybody here is telling the truth about routers making life ALOT easier. Now I can get online with my PSP from anywhere in the house. Money well spent. Maybe now I can keep up with my leagues.

                Its worth it, bro.

Rod, were not trying to shove the router idea down your throat, but this is the best route man. Unplugging wires can get to be a pain after awhile + you can use your PSP online man through wireless which is well worth it.

Yeah, the good thing about wireless routers, its the best of both worlds for him. You can use wireless devices, and use the same ol' wired devices he's using now.

What's does a good quality wireless router go for. I check them out tomorrow at Office Depot since I can use that as a Business expense.

You can get a D-Link or a Linksys for around $49 most places. I've got a pretty nice Linksys that I got at CC with a rebate for around $50. I'll do a quick look online for you man.

Thats the one I have, no complaints here.

Here's a 4 page list of wireless routers from Office Depot.

Price ranges from $44 - $200. Stick to the $45-$65 range, and you're good to go man for home use.
