Guess I am one of the lucky ones. My launch 360 is played nearly everday and not one problem. Go figure.

Amateurs complaining about being on your 3rd 360, lol...

Anyway, I agree, this is pretty ridiculous. But, what are you gonna do? Just stay away from gaming? That's pretty tough for you it sounds like, having 33 games. I have the 2 year extended warranty through MS, and I estimate that by the time that runs out, I will have had probably 10-11 360's. I'm sitting on 5 at the moment.

the thing is even if your launch 360 is still working can you ever feel comfortable with it knowing it seems it's on borrowed time or any 360 for that matter. it seems like everytime i turned mine on i said "phew"

If I could narrow down what causes the 3rd red lights, I would.

If there was anything I was doing wrong that I could correct, I would.

However, having 3 consoles that break down, with no misuse at all boggles my mind. If I dropped one, stepped on one, had it with no ventilation, had it on the carpet, or any one of 1000 diff things then I would try something different.

However, the console is sitting in a non enclosed place, near the TV, with no appliances around it to retain heat, never been dropped, 1 of them never moved from the first place I set it etc.

To think that all the people that are having problems with their systems are somehow their fault and could be prevented is ludicrous.

I just wish there was some way we could narrow down what causes the problem. I also only play my system for about 10 hrs a week now due to my work schedule, so it cant be overuse either.

I used to do the same thing, but now I just don't care anymore, if it dies it dies. Not much we can do.

I'm, luckily, still on my first but this thing scares me. It is making some of the weirdest noise ever, ever. Still nothing though. I had like 3 freezes while playing Rainbow online but I think that's more to do with Rainbow then anyhting else.

Add me to the "3rd 360" club. The 2nd breakdown really pissed me off, and I contemplated switching to PS3 for a few minutes, but I'm sticking with the 360. I like the system too much to give up on it. I've got the two year warranty, so I'm covered until October '08. If #3 breaks down, so be it. Back to MS it goes for another one.

I am almost to the point where I hope mines dies so that I can trade it in toward a PS3. The 360 breaking all the time reminds me of the PS2. I had a launch day PS2, and it would not read DVD formatted disc, of course having a warranty I exchanged it got another one and it would not read the purple discs. I seriously went through 6 or 7 PS2 each being a different problem. Finally the guy a EB grilled me with some questions, like if I had the system vertical or horizontal, where did I have my system, was it on carpet. Finally he said he would give me full credit on my PS2 because I went through so many and put it on a original Xbox. Only had one of those. Now it seems like MS rushed there system out with all these problems to get the jump on Sony and now Sony has the more reliable system over MS.

thats what mine did before all games froze at one point or another..everytime played madden online or off it froze..did the format thing like MS suggested,and now just about each and every game I get the "MR FREEZE"

Ever since I got my 360 I've placed the console and the brick on books. Well a few days ago I moved my console to another tv and forgot to place the books underneath. The system froze twice. Luckily I didn't get the 3 rings of death when I turned the system back on.

I'm happy Microsoft extended the warranty to 1 year. But I want to know what happened to QA. We the consumers let them get away with this. Some of you guys are already on your 3rd 360 yet you still buy Microsoft 360 related products. Microsoft needs to outsource their QA testing to Nintendo

It's an illusion cause 360's don't break you must be doing something wrong at least that's what Dogg told us.

I never said that. Unless you're talking about another Dogg. And my 360 is dead now so I am in the same boat as the rest of you.

I sold my 1st on eBay for $229. So essentially I paid $70 to rent a Core system for a few months. My 2nd, and current, one is a Premium. I don't play it that much. I bought it for 1 game, NCAA 07. I own one game and I play it when I get bored. Never had a DDE or freeze or anything yet...

I sold my 1st on eBay for $229. So essentially I paid $70 to rent a Core system for a few months. My 2nd, and current, one is a Premium. I don't play it that much. I bought it for 1 game, NCAA 07. I own one game and I play it when I get bored. Never had a DDE or freeze or anything yet...

I used to love to play that game. I played it nonstop too. Now when I boot it up and go into a game all I see are colored triangles and lines. Ain't much fun playing it now I reckon.

Same here, except I did not consider PS3. Hopefully third time is a charm, but with the 2 yr MS warranty I am now covered until Sept. 09. So I don't worry about it.

I wanted a new console for X-mas this year, and when I was having trouble finding a Wii, I was perfectly to finally get a 360 instead. I have to admit... it's all these types of stories that scared me away from getting one!!! This is just insane to read that so many people are on their 3rd system. I'm usually pretty lucky with my consoles, mainly because I don't play them nearly as much as i've gotten older... but this sure sounds to me like more then a few isolated incidents!

With that being said, I'll definitely be grabbing a 360 (or PS3?) somewhere down the road. I'm just glad I found a Wii to keep me busy while I can sit back and see if MS can get it's act together... because if these systems are still this unstable I may just wait around for the PS3 to build a game library and drop in price.
