From the way he explained it, it needs a lot of work.

I'd venture to say more like 20-25 years away.

Bunch of really futuristic stuff, like having your bedroom wall be a screen that you can do all sorts of stuff on, including having running videos, like space cameras, aqauriam videos, play games, recieve alerts from family members, watch live personal cameras. Also some weird *** cooking table. The table is a huge screen that walks you thru the cooking process of what your making, and it can tell what ingredient you currently have on the table. Also if you just bought something new like a fruit mixer, it will give you the instructions of how to use it, as well as some recipes. Like I said its all very far off.

Probably everything Bill Gates already has in his home.

well i thought the first thing he showed off with his cell phone was the coolest part.

it was basically custom advertising like you see in that Tom Cruise movie where the ads detect you are around (through your cell phone) and custom advertise to you.

Here are some pics of the interface. Similar to Vista's interface.

                              Re: Live Microsoft CES Show

IPTV sounds really cool, but is it really viable? Internet connection speeds are not fast enough yet to handle something such as this right now, right? It looks like something that could happen with the next generation of consoles, but I can't see it any time in the near future. I also don't think there is enough content available to make it worth the likely price for MS. It might be viable in cities such as San Francisco or Seattle, but not in rural areas of the US.

Early adopters of the 360 are going to be left out in the cold when it comes to the v. 2 360 and it's a shame. I just can't see buying another MS console unless they provide some kind of incentive like receiving a huge discount for trading in our current systems.

I also think that MS and the game developers need to concentrate on making good games for the 360 instead of developing new services for the system. It's a shame that they can provide high def video downloads but they can't make a good football or baseball game for the system. I think I speak for many early adopters when I say that we bought the console for the games, not the extra features. Give us some truly next gen sports games, soon.
