Well anybody's that's played the old Jedi Knight games and then played the demo for this game shouldn't be surprised by the reviews. As I logged onto Gamespot I predicted exactly the 7.5 score before it popped up on the page and was off by .3 points for the IGN review. I have it reserved and will pick it up tomorrow being the Star Wars fanboy that i've been nearly 30 years now and i'm sure i'll have some fun with it, but I was expecting more.

The truth is, Lucasarts really isn't a great developer and never has been. All the greatest Star Wars games were made by other companies. I just fired the original KOTOR back up last week and am playing through it and to be honest....alot of the visuals on that game seem to surpass those in TFU. And TFU seems to be not much better visually than Jedi Academy and worse as far as gameplay. I know the lightsabers in KOTOR look much better than those in TFU.

On a sidenote, I didn't realize what a commodity the Jedi Knight games have become. I'd lost my original copy of Jedi Acedemy in my recent move and had to order another and the cheapest I could find on ebay for a mint copy was about $35. That's a testament to what a great game Raven made.

Judging by the demo I could tell this game wasn't going to live up to the hype. (If there was any)

I got it this morning.

First impressions...

The First level is one of the coolest opening sequences EVER. You get to play as Vader and obviously, your powers are insane.

However, I'm fighting the end boss of this stage right now and let me just say...

THE IS THE WORST CAMERA ANGLE IN THE HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMES!!!!!

Literally..and no I'm not joking...I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay off to the left side of the screen and the camera view is so bad I'm staring at a giant tree that takes up 70% of the screen. In fact, I can't even SEE the boss right now.

It's bad enough that whoever designed this final fight and camera angle should be shot....with a rusty bullet that is simultaneously on fire.

Other than that, this game rocks.

So I just went and bought this game...it is sitting in my 360 and I am ready to give it a shot.....be back with a few impressions.

I did the CC deal, where you got a free t-shirt and a $5 gift card. AA was correct, the opening sequence is pretty badass

This game rocks my socks off.

Other than that horrible camera angle fighting the boss on Level 1. (You'll see what I mean) This game is the shiznit.

There are a TON of force upgrades, combos, etc.

And John Williams playing in the background is just too cool.

I must say the storyline is very very cool as well. The game gets you started off with a very good opening sequence.

I'm playing on the hardest difficulty level and you really have to concentrate on blocking/deflection blaster shots, etc. to keep your life up. You can't just blindly hack and slash or you'll die.

Very fun and challenging so far.

Well, I could do that, but my intentions waking up today was to go out and get NHL 2009.

Then I saw this came out today and now i'm in a pickle. I barely will have enough money to get this as it is with being in college and all.

We'll see I suppose.

Edit: Wait, there is no online play? I thought there was going to be online play for this.

Yes, the storyline is pretty good so far. The graphics seem really nice to me, I am not sure what everyone is complaining about.

So far the camera angles are the worst part of the game, and I can live with that.
