The Total War Series games are great. I loved Rome and still do, but Shogun I think was the best. Yes it was flawed, but I think I enjoyed it the most (probably because it was brand new and by the time Rome came around some of the features from the previous games showed up and I was used to them). I would get the new Medieval one, but my comp can't handle it and I don't have the money right now to afford a new computer.

Red Alert was always a blast for me. Two was good, but the original rocked! I loved having grenade soldiers and watching all the guys go flying. I used to have massive groups of just grenade soldiers who would bomb everything in sight. The time period rocked too. RA2 was great. I didn't like the direction of the main series though after the first one, the whole tiberium futuristic laser stuff isn't my cup of tea. I like modern type of stuff.

Warcraft was fun but I didn't care for 3 as much. Two really rocked though, and I haven't really played starcraft as much. I got tired of everybody saying how great it was and it was one of those things that you hear so much about and then are tired of it before you even get a chance to experience it.

I just went out and bought Rome:Total War... yeah couple years late but I havn't been using my pc for games much other than Wow. (and even with the expansion, im bored to tears with Wow.. just cancelled today. Great use of 40$)
Loved shogun back in the day but never followed up in the series.

On a funny side note.. my brother-in-law got a tatoo of the shogun mask from the game on his arm, but didnt pay too much attention evidently when the artist positioned it. For forever and a day my bro-in-law will have the shogun mask upside down on his arm.

Video game tats go right up there with girlfriend's names for "Tattoos you do not get".

'Rise of Legends' isn't a sequal to 'Rise of Nations'. While it's developed by the same people, and uses a lot of the same play mechanics, it has completely different setting, in this case a fictional sci-fi storyline.

Well worth a look, and due to the poor sales it should be easy to find for cheap. Read some of the reviews (it was highly rated) to get some more info.
