Re: first online gaming experience
Dark Forces II for me also. God i miss that game. I know there still is a small community for the game still, but it will never be the same. I miss The Zone. I still remember some of the clans for that game (FIA in particular). And getting banned by sysops or whatever they were called. The ones that monitored the chatrooms. I fired the game up about 5 years ago and played with a friend and still remembered where everything was in the maps(Canyon Oasis being my favorite). Nothing will ever compare to that feeling knowing that the people i killed and killed me where other humans controlling the characters. I also learned how to "hack" that game and made a few mods that got passed around the community.Comment

Re: first online gaming experience
I played a lot of Jedi Knight (AKA Dark Forces II) on that thing.
Jedi Knight still holds up surprisingly well. I replayed the campaign a few years ago and had lots of fun.Comment

Haha MSN Gaming Zone, those were the days. Such a terrible matchmaking interface by today's standards.

Re: first online gaming experience
Glory days of online gaming on PC. Remember how big RTS's were back then damn! Only one off this list would be Age of Empires.
Doom 1993 was first one
Warcraft: Orcs & Humans 1994
Command and Conquer 1995
Quake 1996
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 1997
Total Annihilation 1997
StarCraft 1998
Console, the game that started the love for online gaming even though it was split screen. 007: Golden Eye without a doubt!Comment
