Yet, it had the exact same football problems, and online problems, and missing features from current gen.

You see I think that's the biggest difference between the Madden and NCAA situations. While Madden's franchise mode has been stripped to the bare bones, NCAA's dynasty mode included everything that we were accustomed to form current gen short of magazine covers. And I should emphasize that it was only the covers as all the info found in the magazine section on current gen is available under Season News on 360. So the mode that is dearest to most fans wasn't short on features. Sure EA added the srping game to current gen and not next gen but overall moving from 06 to 07 next gen I felt the dynasty mode was just as deep. Now Madden's franchise mode...

I know there are other modes like campus Legend that didn't make it but I, and many others only care about franchise/dynasty modes in sports games.

I have never understood why the NCAA game is considered better. I mean I've rented the damn thing three times, bought a used copy of 06 last fall. I really though that there was something that I was missing but nope . . . same bad gameplay as Madden . . . nothing special there . . .

You know- I also think much of it has to do with the nature of college football. There are occasional blowouts, there are huge mismatches, there are wild stats. So the "realism" thing, and therefore- in my opinion- the AI, isn't as scrutinized by fans like Madden is. (Though the same problems exist between both games using the same engine)

But its funny how Madden takes all the heat.

Anyway- not to bash EA too much though. My dissatisfaction with EA is more centered around Tiburon's two games and NBA Live/MM. I really liked the work EA Canada did with NHL 07, and I do miss MVP as a pro game. I'm also not disappointed with Tiger Woods PGA Tour... and I've never played the new Fight Night.

So I'm not one of these "EA sux at life!" people. I just wish they'd either put a fire under Tiburon's butt, or get someone else to handle football.

Hopefully APF2K8 will light a fire..for itself, and for Tiburon too.

Last week, we announced that Take-Two Interactive postponed its annual meeting from March 23, 2007 until March 29, 2007 to evaluate alternative courses of actions that could be presented to a group of dissident shareholders. These shareholders plan to remove the board of directors and fire Chief Executive Officer Paul Eibeler.

Last night, Take Two sent a new wire in which the publisher explained that "the Board of Directors now believes that it is unlikely to present alternative courses of action prior to the annual meeting on March 29th. The Company is continuing to have discussions with representatives of the shareholder group."

Take Two was evaluating, among other actions, to sell the company and this latest wire reveals that the publisher hasn't found a buyer.

We expect more news regarding the fate of Take Two after Thursday's meeting.

I wonder if the reason they can't sell is that companies are not interested in buying Take Two, just Rockstar and Take Two isn't willing to part with them.

I've been in touch with some people from T2. At this point, there's no reason to believe one way or the other. We'll find out on the 29th.

Shareholder meetings are usually about as interesting to gamers as watching paint dry.

But tomorrow’s gathering of Take Two shareholders promises to be different, full of conflict, raw emotion, simple greed and perhaps a Jack Thompson rant. And it’s all going to be broadcast via the web (audio only).

As has been heavily reported here on GamePolitics and elsewhere, a well-financed bloc of T2 shareholders stands ready to seize control of the company and oust CEO Paul Eibeler (left) and the entire Take Two board of directors.

That alone makes the meeting interesting, but in case you need more, gadfly attorney Jack Thompson, a longtime nemesis of Eibeler, Take Two, and its Rockstar subsidiary, has been making noises about speaking at the meeting. The outspoken anti-game activist, currently embroiled in a lawsuit with Take Two, reportedly owns a few shares of company stock, which is enough to get him admitted to the gathering at the Hotel Gansevoort.
