heard the same on some other forums, and on the 1up podcast. The RockBand guitars low quality are whats keeping me from buying this game.

I dunno, I'm not finding the RB guitar to be of low quality. It certainly does feel different from the GH guitars, but in no way do I think it feels cheap.

In fact, I like its bigger size and heftier bulk.

On a separate note, I was cruising along in my solo drum career on Medium, hitting about 95% on all the songs until I got to Green Grass and High Tides. Once it gets to the fast part I fail. I can keep up for a while but that section goes on FOREVER. Eventually I lose all coordination between my hands and foot pedal and my meter drops like a rock! My god, I hate playing that song. Why is that section so damn long?! And it is a pretty simple patern that just repeats, but it is fast and does not end!! ARGH!!!

I can beat "And Justice for All" on Hard but can't get through this song on Medium!

I feel you Tanis... That was the hardest song for me on medium, because of the part you are talking about. I just had to make myself count out the beat out loud, it was the only way I could get through it. I don't even want to try it on hard.

It works for me when playing (poorly) the drums for real. So I figured it would work in game, your still playing a beat right? This game kicks ***!

For anyone that hasn't done this:

CALIBRATE YOUR GAME!!!

I have a DLP television, and was going through my vocal career. I was hitting all of the notes on a lot of song I know by heart, but for some reason was only 3 starring. Come to find out I was late on the notes because I was watching the words and starting an instant too late.

Calibrated the TV to automatic DLP, back to 5 starring. Just a tip.

Agree with you there Millennium. I never had to calibrate Guitar II or III, but for some reason when I started Rock Band I would break my streaks alot even though I could have sworn I was hitting every note. So I went to clibration and selected the CRT setting and viola, a huge improvment.

You know what I did was I just kept tapping on both of the drums.. Even though I was hitting a note I wasn't suppose to.. I still manage to hit enough notes to go back to green and bring my meter up. That effin bass pedal has given me shin splints.

Yep, it aggravated my shin splints bad. The only cure I have found, not really....but it helps, is to keep your foot down the entire time on the pedal.

I bought it for my wife today for an early graduation present and she's digging it more than Guitar Hero. I've just been watching and I have to say it's visually more impressive than GH.

Guys. As everyone knows, the guitars are not working too well. BUT, on gamefaqs, people have posted solutions to fixing it. All you need is a small enough Phillips screwdrive to do the trick. THATS ALL.

I Followed these steps, and it works perfectly (for now anyway).

I honestly see how this would happen to many of the guitars out there, and I think if EA ships replacements with this same setup... they could be in trouble.

I took the back of the guitar off of my 360 guitar. (no stickers to break.. just a ton of phillips screws)
It pretty much looked like the pic that has been posted previously.

(The picture was not my guitar.. although I did take pictures to use if needed)

Notice the 2 sets of contact points. You can almost see it in this picture, and the difference is minimal, but
when comparing the gap between the two contacts - between the top and the bottom sets...
I saw in my guitar that the DOWN STRUM contacts are just a bit closer together than the ones for the UP strum.

In this picture, the contacts at the TOP of the pic are the DOWNSTRUM. The bottom contacts are the UPSTRUM.
It was very evident when I moved my strummer that the contacts on the top (for the downstrum) didnt hardly take any
pressure for the contacts to come together.

THE FIX: There is a very small screw holding the contacts in place inside the guitar.
I removed the screw and lifted the contacts (for the downstrum) out of the guitar.
Of the two metal contacts, I took the one that is FURTHEST AWAY from the plastic strum piece and bent it back -
EVER SO SLIGHTLY. You cant bend it too much, because when you place it back in the guitar, there is a plastic piece
that it rests up against. But even a slight arc in the metal gives you a little more room between the two contacts.
After putting the piece back in, it was obvious that the piece I worked on had a larger gap between the contacts.

I re-screwed the guitar back together and tried it out, and after 5 or 6 songs, have had no issues with the guitar trying to double strum in the menus, or be unresponsive in-game.

IF the guitar continues to have problems, which I dont expect it to - I feel I have done nothing that EA would call me on as far as voiding my warranty. If I shipped it back and didnt say anything about opening the guitar, I feel I'd have no problem getting a replacment sent back to me.

I'm glad I did this as I have about 4 to 6 people coming over Sat afternoon and I was planning on playing this all day!
