The only thing that's starting to really bother me, the soundtrack is very, very similar to Guitar Hero 3's.

I was just about to post that...

              Sweet.

Today, MTV Games and Harmonix announced that the Grateful Dead will appear in the forthcoming rhythm game Rock Band. Some 18 master recordings of the group's biggest hits--including "Truckin'," "Uncle John's Band," "Touch of Grey," "Sugar Magnolia," and "Casey Jones"--will be made available for the game on license from Rhino Records. The songs will "be available as digitally distributed game levels following Rock Band's release this holiday season," according to MTV Games.
Eighteen master tracks from hippie phenomenon will be available for digital download via Harmonix and MTV Games' upcoming rhythm title, including "Truckin'" and "Casey Jones."

Rock Band has announced more downloadable music than actual stuff on the disc. Since the game is still 3 months out, you'd think some of this could get on the disc? Game is less and less appealing to me.

This game's a must-buy for the Grateful Dead tunes alone...

I just hope all these downloadable albums are also offered as single track downloads. I REALLY don't want to drop ten bucks for an album with only a few songs I'm interested in (though of course I'll end up playing them all).

Still eagerly anticipating this one, though it seems I'll spend as much on DLC as for the box set when all is said and done!

How come this isn't coming to the Wii? Just curious.

I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility...they announced a PS2 version and if the Wii keeps selling I'm sure it'll end up there sometime. I figure the PS2 announcement was solely for sales, since the market penetration of "next gen" just isn't there yet.

Hopefully one of the songs is Eyes of the World. LOL.

I am so pumped about the Dead being downloadable, but I hope it's not just their mainstream stuff. I'd love to see a Help Slip Franklin combo, a good Scarlet-Fire, or an Estimated/Eyes, but I don't see that happening. I also hope the master tracks are from 77, 73, or 85 since those were the Dead's best years IMO. All right, I'm going way to in depth with this

I was also hoping for 20 minute version of Terrapin, but don't think that's happening!
