Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
I love 80's music, but I'm itchin' for either GH franchise or even Rock Band to eventually tackle 70's rock. There was so much excellent music from the 70's that would kick ***.
Only ones that I like off of this track list:
Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter"
Aerosmith "Train Kept a Rollin'"*
Boston "Foreplay/Long Time"
Mountain "Mississippi Queen" (cover) - I was happy until I heard it was a cover.
Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive"
Faith No More "Epic"
Metallica "Enter Sandman"
Stone Temple Pilots "Vasoline"
Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock"
Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun" - Love Soundgarden, but a better song would have been "Rusty Cage" or "Jesus Christ Posse" imo
The Killers "When You Were Young"Comment

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
I'm curious to see what DLC will be out there besides The Who and Nirvana. I would love to see U2 finally make an appearance.
At least for Rock Band, the devs are upfront in saying they will have lots of DLC ready near the release date.
It's obvious they could put the Nirvana and The Who's album on the disc but they just want to make money. I'm just glad you can purchase songs individually.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
Looks like I'll have to lower my backseats of my Golf when I am bringing this baby home.
Now I just have to decide what to play first on the 20th. Mass Effect or Rockband?Comment

Copy that into your web browser and put your zip code in and see if any walmarts around you have this in stock yet. A few people over at CAG have already bought the game. (Take out the space between the ':' and the 'o')Comment

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
Yeah I deleted the post until I can figure it out. It worked for me before I posted it, and now it's not..
edit: Here's how to check
By the way, to check yours...
1. Go to walmart.com
2. Search for item 7789035 (PS3 version) or 7789034 (xbx360 verson).
3. While on the product page, paste the code from the above quote into your URL bar (javascript: openSlapOverlay(7789034);
), replacing the number with the version number of your choice. Don't forget the semicolon. Press enter.
4. A javascript box should pop up allowing you to put in your zip code.
5. Bingo!
change the 4 to a 5 for the ps3 versionLast edited by RockyTop1; 11-01-2007, 11:20 AM.PS4: aBayBates

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
Man, I was really looking forward to this game, but if thats the final tracklist and the DL content is gonna cost that much, I may not get it right away, which sucks.
There is no reason the DL content should cost more than $1.00 a song, IMO.Comment

The more I hear about the game - the less interested I become. At first it was a "must buy", after all the stuff I've read it's pretty much a "not likely".Comment

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
FROM IGN, a guy that bought it early:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All right, to end this once and for all, the package I bought from Walmart is indeed a demo. The very first thing I found when I opened the box was a packet of papers that says
"Dear WalMart Store Manager:
Enclosed in this Rock Band demo kit are the following items:
* PS3 demo software
* Drum kit with stand
* Guitar controller
* Demo set-up instructions
These items should be installed on the PS3 end cap in the Christmas Shop per the instructions from your merchandising team.
Turn up the volume and rock on!"
The rest of the packet contains instructions for setting up.
Inside the box was the game in a crappy little paper sleeve, and it came with two smaller boxes containing a wired guitar (note that I bought a PS3 version, so this is probably to prevent people from stealing the guitar from the store) and a drum set. No sign of a microphone, just like the post on the Rockband forums mentioned. I'm kind of hesitant to open up either box, because I don't know if Walmart would still let me return this. Does anyone have any idea if I could just wait until November 20th and bring this to Walmart, claiming that it's defective, and then getting a new, real copy? Even if it's a demo, I still want to try it out before returning it, but I'm afraid if they won't allow me.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
Ha. I would just return it. Although, EA says the game is going to be scarce.
November 1, 2007 - During Electronic Arts' Q2 2008 Earnings Conference Call today, CEO John Riccitiello warned that supply for Rock Band would not meet demand this holiday season and even into next year.
"If I were you, on the 19th of November I would get in line outside of your favorite retailer," Riccitiello told investors. "We've got a lot of inventory coming, and my expectation is it will sell through.
Riccitiello said unless you pre-order Rock Band or get in line on launch day, "unless you have a buddy that works at one of our retailers you're not gonna have it at Christmas."
Electronic Arts anticipates struggling to meet demand well into the new year, as well.
"This is definitely not a sprint. We're not going to be able to put enough inventory to meet demand in North America and Europe this calendar year or this fiscal [year]."
EA's current fiscal year ends March 2008.

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band
I finally had a chance to play this today and the game isn't too bad. I like the new visuals, but the new guitar just feels very weird. I like the idea of the drums, but too bad they weren't a little bit bigger, I kept on hitting the top of them. LOL! I think it just takes some more practice with the game and all.Comment

I hope they release smaller bundles down the line. I can't ever see myself dropping 170 bucks on a game, ever.
