I played a little bit today. Devour on Expert guitar was ... whew! Tough on the right arm since I haven't played in so long. I still got about 94% on it, though.

Man, I'm so impressed by how you guys can keep playing Green Grass over and over. Me and my friends hate that song so much, lol. It feels like the most indulgent and repetitive guitar soloing ever. Both times I got through that song on Expert, I vowed never to play it again, lol.

I love that song. One of my favorites in the game.

I actually had my grandmother play it tonight on Easy. She gave up about 6 minutes in and got like 40%. LOL

I tried playing it again on Expert and fail at 84%, just like I do every time.

By the way, I went to look back at the beginning of this thread and it's funny how people were blown away by the price and said they wouldn't get it.

I wonder how many of those same people ended up getting it and have probably spent some money on DLC.

Amazing how in 9 months, this game has changed things. Personally, it's completely changed the way I look at music.

Amazing how in 9 months, this game has changed things. Personally, it's completely changed the way I look at music.

I know i didnt think i would get it, now my wife and i are pre-ordering RB 2......great game, and its a video game that she enjoys.....not too many of those

The only reason I keep playing GGaHT is because its really the only challenging song for me that I kind of like. It does get very repetitive though, so I haven't played it in a few days.

You can count me as one of the people that didn't plan on getting it. I don't know why, I just didn't want it. I was going to stick with everything Guitar Hero put out. But my family felt like we should get it for Christmas, so I'm glad they made that decision.

Yeah...I told myself I'd never get it, after never playing a GH game...

Then I played Rock Band one night in December at a friend's house.

Then I bought it the next day.

This game takes up the vast majority of my gaming time. I was playing some band world tour last night by myself, singing and playing guitar at the same time. At first it was frustrating, but after I got used to it I was having a great time. Knowing the songs is a must.

I didn't wanna get it either. Thought the price was a joke. Thought drumming would be a joke, especially since I used to play. Also thought it was a scam with only 45 songs (besides the bonus content) on there and the whole pay to download the rest of the songs thing. I liked guitar hero but I didn't think Rock Band would be that much different.

Boy was I wrong. I've had so much fun playing by myself and with my wife, family, friends, it's a great game.

I don't think I'll ever finish the final 5 songs on Expert guitar though. My fingers just don't move fast enough. I've gotten most of expert on 4 or 5* but man those last 5 just kill me. I may just stick with Hard.

I breezed through the drums on Expert except I just have Run to the Hills to finish then I'll do that on Expert.

I think it would be fun to do an expert bass tour, too bad they won't allow it.

Don't give up man. I had the same problem, but just kept trying and then when you least expect it, it just clicks.

Sure, you may not five star it at first but certainly pass it.

I have problems with the first solo in Train Kept a Rollin! Now if I can't do that I know I'm screwed on the two Southern Rock songs.

I'll try every now and then, but I just can't see my fingers moving that fast.

The setlist for that game is out....some good songs, too bad they're all covers. I'd LOVE to play Holy Wars by Megadeth, Dance Dance, Dream Theater, The Killers, and Breaking Benjamin (speaking of which, how come they aren't on RB yet). Kinda odd.

What's the problem with covers? I have an article coming up on WhoNeedsRules that looks at the music games we've got, and seriously, I think it's better that they're covers other than the master tracks. Maybe that's just me.

That's just dumb. If you have a chance for the REAL song, why would you settle for less?

Take Sweet Child O' Mine for example. During the second half of the verses there are those riffs played by the bridge that are rather tough to hear in the master track, if even at all. Yes, they could just make it louder... but that's just a small example.

I think it's mostly concerning older songs. Songs like Paint It Black just don't sound right... I just really don't feel like I'm playing some notes at times even though I'm clicking away. It could be a poor note chart, or it could just be because it was a master track. The BPM's could be messed up without a metronome, the solos may not be very clean, and sometimes songs are simply out of tune.

Otherwise, I much prefer master tracks, especially if the covers don't sound right (at least vocals, like Fat Lip on GH1).
