I really think the demand for the game is way over hyped. Drove by my local Best Buy and there wasn't a single sole at 8:30 AM. Drove over to target to get a few things, thought I would go check the game section and they had 12+ just waiting to go on the shelf, so I picked one up. Drove back by the Best Buy at 9:15 and still nobody in line.

Maybe so, but there are morons on ebay paying over $300 for them.

My Wal-Mart had 7 stacked up this afternoon. I bought mine this morning and they had a pallet of them. I bought two and seriously thought about buying all of them and selling them on ebay.

to get the mic to work,you have to turn on one of your regular xbox controllers.so have the mic plugged in the usb port,and turn on your regular controller.hope this makes sense. i got lucky and figured this out.

How does the singing work? It is picking up if you are hitting the right notes, or just singing the right words or both? I assume that singing them on time is also part of it.

It's both. There are lines that represent pitch and words below the pitch lines. As you sing along, there is an arrow that follows the line which will track evenly if you sing the right bitch, falls below if you are flat, or goes above if you are sharp while singing. Not sure scientifically how it works, but it's pretty cool stuff. Only 2 hours left of work - can't wait!!

Got it at lunch but only got to play 3 songs.

Guitar - Not as bad as I thought. I tried a demo unit at BB and thought ugh this sucks but mine is just fine. Not as heavy as the GH3 but not too bad. The buttons are squishy but I do like the strum bar, I use a real pick and it worked well.
The extra buttons don't feel right and you have to hold your hand at an awkward angle to hit.

Drums - Pretty sturdy, just hope that they can take a beating especially the plastic around the pads. You have a 60 day warranty on the equipment which is not bad but not good either.

Mic - Didn't try.

DLC - They have a ton already out and I bought all of them so it is starting out well but man what a dent in the wallet.


Play - It plays well but the timing is different than GH3 so it will take a littel getting used to.

I should have some buddies coming over tonight and can't wait. Sure wish they had the
campaign mode online.

I guess I need to buy the wireless headset for online play otherwise wires wires everywhere.

Thanks for the impressions guys.

One question though. This would be a game my son and I would play together, so if say, I play the drum and he plays guitar, could we play at different difficulty levels or am I stuck playing on easy with him?

Not sure where you guys are buying yours, but I got mine at Best Buy and splurged the extra $30 for a 2 year warranty. Peace of mind in case the drums break down. Might want to consider it.....

Make sure you have a controller on as well, I read that you have to have a controller on and connected (wireless or wired) for the mic to be recognized
