Re: Harmonix's Rock Band Discussion
My kick pedal finally cracked in half. Thank god the new kit will have a metal peddle. Mini-coffin en route. When I used to play drums in a band years ago I always played hard. I guess the cheap pedal couldn't handle it!PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band Discussion
Finally passed Highway Star on expert last night, miraculously.
Only need to pass GGAHT and FWD to have beaten every song.
Honestly, I probably won't ever pass GGAHT. My fingers simply won't move that fast.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four!What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I got really close to getting Highway Star today and still have yet to pass GGAHT and Flirting with Disaster.Comment

Green Grass High Tides Solution
Use the Rock Band guitar, not the guitar hero guitar. Go into practice mode, and tap your way through the repeating parts.
===when you are tapping==
what you want to pay attention to is the note that you are tapping. That's going to hold you for timing. For instance, the pattern might be :Yellow(tap), red/green/red/ YELLOW(tap). Get that tapped yellow to be like clockwork, and the rest will fall into place. The trick is not to get lost in the constant repetition, lose your timing and then just start pressing notes and random and praying.
For those of you who are failing out at 85% and below, let me warn you right now; the last fifteen percent is the hardest, but it's only because of those repeating patterns. They go on for so long that if you don't have them, you are definitely going to fail.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band Discussion
Rock Band is probably my favorite game ever. It's not particularly challenging on Bass or Guitar (only hard song from the regular game is GG&HT which isn't even that hard - it's just two passages that are tricky), but it's just fun as hell. I could play Ride the Lightning on Bass all day long without getting bored.
The drums I find really, really hard because I have no rhythm nor can I get my feet and hands to act independently. So when there are parts like Hand-Foot-Hand-Foot-Hand-Foot over and over I get totally screwed over. I keep wanting to kick every time my I have to hit the drums with the sticks. It's like my brain just can't separate the two. There are only a few songs I can beat on Expert.
I'm excited about RB2. There are a few features that look great (like no fail)... And some of the songs look good.
I have to admit, I'm not super impressed with the DLC so far (lots of bands that really just bore me like The Who, Judas Priest, Pixies, Boston). There are only about 5 songs that I've downloaded so far (Metallica and Disturbed). I really wish they'd get some decent metal up there like more Metallica and some Megadeth already. They seem to be in love with NIN right now, though. They've realeased quite a few songs by them already.
RB2 looks like it has some decent songs, though. To me it's worth the buy if it has at least 5-6 songs that I already know and like. I usually end up liking some songs I've never heard of (the Rolling Stones songs are always fun for some reason, and then Welcome Home by C&C is just awesome).Last edited by MC Fatigue; 07-20-2008, 11:01 AM.Comment
