Negative. The GH guitar does not work on the PS3 version, only the Rock Band ones do.

You might want to look into getting the Nyko Frontman guitar for the PS3. It is compatible for both Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and I think it is a better guitar than the Rock Band one. It'll cost you another $50 though.

Man, by the end of it all, you probably end up spending just as much on Rock Band as the PS3 itself! DLC, the bundle, extra guitar, Hit Kit, 2-year replacement plan..... I better get a record deal out of this. :wink:

For the amount of fun we've had with it, it's worth it. One of the best Christmas presents I've received in a long time (and I didn't even ask for it!).

I've never gone back and totaled up how much DLC I've purchased. Too scared, LOL

After getting the 3 Disturbed songs and Margaritaville, I'm up to 122 songs. So that ends up being 64 DLC songs, which if you said $2 a song would put me at $128 in extras, but some of them were cheaper, so it's probably more around $120ish

One more question: How is the Sony guitar that you can buy separately? Anyone have any experience with it or thoughts? I want to make sure I have a complete set for tonight, but if there is another type that would be compatible with GH, I thought that might be a better long-term buy with GH4 in the fall.

It works great on both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. The strummer is like the GH guitars rather than the "spongey" Rock Band style. It has a whammy as well as the tone selector thing for the Rock Band solos. The only thing I don't like about the Nyko guitar is that it doesn't have the solo buttons on it like the Rock Band guitar has. I don't ever use those buttons except the rock bonuses at the end of songs on Rock Band, so it isn't a big loss at all though.

Wow the Disturbed songs are pretty sweet.

Couldn't get through Inside the Fire on bass on Expert my first time through, but beat the other two.

Can't wait to try them on drums.

I think that's about the amount I have last I saw. Add in the extra guitar and the drum pads I got, I'm near $200 I guess.

I don't ever use those buttons except the rock bonuses at the end of songs on Rock Band, so it isn't a big loss at all though.

Those solo buttons were MONEY for beating Green Grass and High Tides on Expert.

Those solo buttons are the only ones I can use at the moment, when trying to play expert on base. For some reason I'm just not used to the wireless GH3 guitar so I suck whenever I try to play expert on it.
