Hmm....I have a choice to make. I did what I had to do to earn a free game at www.yourfree360game.com (saw the thread on the site over at SlickDeals, and it apparently is legit), and I'm gonna pick between Guitar Hero III, The Orange Box (Half Life), Ace Combat 6, PGR 4, Tony Hawk Proving Ground, or something else. I'm not sure how much joy I could get outta GHIII cause my fingers don't move fast enough for me to get out of Medium. And once I did what I had to do on medium on GHII, I kinda lost interest in the game.

To be honest, I think that if Harmonix had this same track list, they would not have been as hardcore. Neversoft has been hardcore since the beginning of the Tony Hawk series. I still don't like the move to Neversoft.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

bjf, I used that site to get Crackdown. It's legit. Just don't repeat any offers if you do it again (most won't allow you to, anyway). Personally, I'd get Half Life 2 off the list for replay value. PGR 4 and Tony Hawk are vanity picks since it's "free", but are still good choices. Ace Combat lost me six years ago, so..
As always, some songs are just fun to play along with, and others are guitar (or fiddle, lol) oriented.
I think Neversoft did a good job.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Sometimes I feel like they should just have some softer songs in there. I mean, they do work. Or... at least, less "metal" or "hardcore".
Look at GH 1:
- Stellar
- More Than A Feeling (my personal favorite)
- Sharp Dressed Man
- Killer Queen
- I Wa...
Hell, it would be easier for me to name the hardcore songs instead of the non hardcore songs.
And GH 2:
- Girlfriend
- Jessica
- Rock This Town
- Surrender
- Message In a Bottle
And just too many more.
I'm just showing you how broad this game really could be. If only they put one or two of these kinds of songs in here, even Panama, I would be happier.
Now, I have to be honest... I have yet to read the entire list for Guitar Hero III, and even what I have read, there are some songs that, by the title and the band name, I haven't heard before. But to me, it seems like the more that my sisters (especially my little sister) like the game, the more I will enjoy it too. I play co-op with them when I go home, and they are anticipating GH 3 and want to step up from Medium to Hard, and I want them to reach Expert. But for them, it starts with the soundtrack.
Now I see how much I actually don't like how they made Devil Went Down to Georgia. Though I was talking about the guitar part the whole time, I can't anymore. The voice really does kill it.
Hopefully they like this game. Hopefully I like this game.Last edited by Blzer; 10-21-2007, 12:24 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I think GH2 had a pretty good tracklist, dabbling into hard rock, rockabilly, southern rock, and surf rock.

Hopefully it's just the transition from his game to YouTube and the video is slightly delayed.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
My only complaint right now is that the boss battles at least from the Youtube videos look insanely stupid. The CPU doesn't appear to miss a note, and the power-up things appear to be completely random and simply intended to frustrate the hell out of a player. What's the point?
Can't wait to play some of these songs, though.Comment
