Love it so far, although I am barely out of the vault. Not enough time to play it last night. Found the first town and have a couple of quests. I couldn't stay awake past 11:30 so I put it down.

I find that it takes a couple of hours to get into any RPG. Getting your feet wet, figuring out controls, reading maps, etc. Starting to get there, although I may get the guide for help and good reading material.

Lmao, I got my radiation at about 600 and now I grow back limbs and recover health. AWSOME!!!!!

Anyways after player more last night the game is great. I love the fighting,exploring etc.. I'll be playing this for a while!!

hey guys im new to the fallout 3 series but reading some info on here it seems cool and the commercial has got me interested in it..im just wondering what type of game it is...is it a first person shooter or rpg or what...any help is appreciated just looking for some background information on this game.

G.O.T.Y candidate for me already.

In 5 hours to me it smokes the first 5 hours of Oblivion and GTA IV. I really, really didn't wanna go to bed last night.

The characters are very lifelike to me. They way they interact with EACHOTHER is even incredible to me.

What also is amazing is there is always more than one way to solve a problem/complete a quest. Sometimes there are 3 or 4.

V.A.T.S. Rules.....I just love this game more than any I have even in the first 5 hours for a LONG time.

You actually have killed people and the whole town did not come after you? I stole a cup and all hell broke loose. Can someone PM as to what is some of the 1st couple of things I need to do to get going. I'm completly lost trying to find info about my father. Thanks

That is crazy.... I steal everything I see. I guess I do not get caught. I stole so much at one point my guy barely wanted to move. I finally realized that the cups and little things aren't worth anything. Anyone know where the weapon dealer is? I have been every where in the town!

It is a combo of RPG/First person shooter. The world is huge and you can get lost exploring it. If you like wide open games with lots of talking/exploring then you will like this game.

I totally agree with you Jistic. This game is unreal! First thing I did after leaving the Vault was head left to the bombed out bridge, only to be met by about 20 raiders. Let me tell you, after barely surviving them and finding out they didn't have anything all that valuable, I was scrounging the wasteland for stimpacks for about an hour. I finally broke down and headed into Megaton to get healed, and the design of that town is amazing.

I'm having a blast just walking around doing random sidequests, much like I did in Oblivion.

I'd post more impressions, but i've got a 5 hour block before work to play this, and i'm gonna use it

I ordered the guide from Amazon for $16, should arrive today. It will give me some good reading while at work...and a little more direction when I play tonight.

I got it last night and yes it is amazing.

I disabled Megaton. My bomb skill is 30+ off the start so it was easier to disarm it than to take the other quest of blowing the city up. Perks I have : Lady killer: Gun nut:

Funny thing, when the overseeer is talking to his daughter as you are breaking out the vault. I have a high sneak skill so I crept up behind him and the other guard. Whiped out my pistol, used VATS to target the overseers head, then the guards head. I hit A and the cut scene was BADASS. I blew the overseer head clean to peices and cut the other guards head clean off. Then armad or whatever her name is starts screaming "WHY YOU KILLED ME DAD?!?!?!" EXCELLENT game.

That first house you come to when you get out with that lady in it. I told her I was going to tell on her if she didn't give me bottle caps and she bought my lie and gave me 400. It was a good way to start! I made sure to put a lot of skill in speech and charisma.

I said the same thing last night while playing.
1: VATS is awesome! It really makes you "think before you shoot" and adds a nice level of strategy.

2: The AI seems so far to be top notch. Hurt them and they will retreat or find cover etc..

Just make sure you stay with the game. It starts out just a tad slow but believe me it gets TONS better as you get going.

Oblivion + a touch of GEARS + some F.E.A.R factor + Inovative fighting system = Fallout 3
So far it's a must own IMO>

I put my points in Sneak, Small arms, Mele. I get up close and personel :P Hit ya in the face with my brass knuckles. I LOVE this game
