Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
EDGE Magazine Review- 8
Conviction is in reach of greatness. It's flaws stand out in the short singleplayer campaign, and it's tail end relies too much on the gunplay that the game otherwise relegates to a begrudging last resort. But when it hits it's stride, the enviroments unlock the player's tactical ambitions in a way that's truly empowering, launching you between shadow and light, discretion and aggression. In some ways it's sad to say goodbye to old, subtle Fisher, but as Splinter Cell goes from covert to overt, a new found dynamism emerges, happily driving players to return to it's vicious little sandbox battles, tempting them to obliterate enemies in ever slicker, quicker ways. And that's surely the hallmark of any true conviction: it bears repeating.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
IGN Review - 9.3
Conviction is a Splinter Cell game in name more than anything else. You could easily swap Sam Fisher for Jack Bauer or create an all new character and no one would give it a second thought. The gameplay is fast, and Sam has been transformed into the ultimate killer. It's an amazing game, but so different from its predecessors you might not recognize it.
Despite a few questionable level design choices, Splinter Cell Conviction is a great addition to the series. There's no way I could go back to a stealth game as it used to be; I've been converted. The only reason to hesitate and pick this up is if you only care about the single-player story and want nothing to do with anything else Conviction has to offer. If that's the case, then there's not a lot of game to be had. And also, you're nuts. The best parts of Conviction are the experiences you have long after you've left Sam Fisher behind.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I'll probably rent it. I'm thinking of starting back up my Gamefly subscription because of all the games coming out. No way I'm going to buy Splinter Cell, Red Dead, UFC, and Alan Wake.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I will for sure without a doubt spend my money on Red Dead...Splinter Cell I don't even know now. Years ago I'd have no hesitation buying SC as it had great replay value with vs mode...but now it seems with all the delays this franchise had, and the terrible decision to not have any vs I have lost a lot of excitement for this series.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Sadly, I've fallen into the same boat as others here. Once I found out how short the single player and the lack of multiplayer, it fell into the rental category. Seems like I can rent it and finish the single player in a week easy.Comment
