Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
10 hours on Normal is what people are saying that got the game early. Probably more like 12 hours on Realistic. That's in line with most other action games (heck it's even longer than some) and previous Splinter Cell games. No spies vs. mercs is a bummer, but there's still a lot of game here with the additional 6 hour co-op campaign and deniable ops. Both of which support public matchmaking.
I really want to get it, but I have so much I'm playing right now, and would like to finish before Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption come out next month.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
some guy on gamespot forums said that the coop campaign can be played by one player accompanied by an AI teammate?
is that true ?
deniable ops is single player, but it'd be nice to be able to play the coop campaign alongside a friendly AI or a human partner.Comment

A month ago, this was a guaranteed day one purchase for me but now I might wait a little while on this and might just rent it instead.#RespectTheCultureComment

Still getting it for several reasons. One, I love Splinter Cell. Two, ten hours for me is still a great game length, plus buddies are getting it so co-op will be king. Third, I got it for 26 bucks with release day shipping (51.99, $5 coupon for using code word Splinter, and $20 in Amazon credits from previous purchases). Fourth, Ghost Recon Future Soldier beta this summer.Comment

"The campaign is a brisk and enjoyable five-hour experience that has only two odd spots." from ign
that's just too short to buy imo. no vs. multiplayer. The first splinter cell took quite a long time to beat.
I'll probably enjoy the rental though...I'll try to get a friend or two to rent on the same day and we can probably do some of the coop stuff too before the week is up.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Can't justify a full purchase for no MP besides Coop.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
GamePro - 5/5
While it might not be the back-to-basics game fans were expecting, Conviction is an outstanding title from top to bottom. On sheer value alone the game warrants a look, with an action-packed and satisfying single-player campaign, lengthy co-op mode, and entertaining online components. Why Sam has stepped out of the shadows and is on full out attack makes complete sense in context with the story, so if you can accept it for what it is and not dwell on the fact that it isn't what you've come to expect in a Splinter Cell title, you'll no doubt agree that Conviction rivals Chaos Theory as the best title in the franchise's history.
All in all, Conviction is a splendid package, positively glowing with good health. The amount of content is huge as it is, but the range of options for how you play lends it enormous replay value too. The main thing, though, is the remarkable and bold focus - none of Assassin's Creed 2's endless tutorial or ridiculous minigames, or indeed of Arkham Asylum's irritatingly blocked routes and hollow collectormania. This reborn Splinter Cell just gets on with it: it has the courage to pick one thing, the fantasy of being a hi-tech manhunter, and do it as well as possible,. Conviction believes in itself, and so should you.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Hey guys, I've never played any of the old Splinter Cell games. Do you think I should play those before trying this one out? I'm talking strictly about the story here. What I'm asking is, is it like Assassins Creed where if you haven't played the others, you will lose a lot in terms of the story?PSN - Splff3000
