Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
The game was severely dumbed down, that's for sure. It wasn't very SC-esque to me. I've had fun with it, but it isn't what it used to be at all. They need to make it easier for some folks.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I thought the game was very well done, but some of the design decisions such as the ammo crates and the leveling-up of the guns just didn't really do it for me. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the game.
Hopefully with the next game they'll somewhat go back to the original, in terms of focusing more on the stealth gameplay that made the first game so great.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Almost done with the single player game. I am enjoying it, but I did lose a little bit of the classic Splinter Cell feel in this. I enjoy the game for what it is, and it does a great job at that. I just also like the more stealthy style game, and kinda miss that style.
Still fun though, just hope they do a more classic version down the line.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
The thing about Splinter Cell Conviction is that for the most part the player has the option to either be a stealthy spy or go the Rambo style with guns blazing while playing through the single player Story mode. One major difference between this game and the older SC games, however, is that a player doesn't have to drag dead/unconscious bodies to secluded spots. And another big factor is that going the spy route isn't necessary in order to get through most of the levels unless the player is committed to fulfilling many of the P.E.C. Challenges.
Personally, I choose to go the spy route as I haven't really used many of the available firearms and also haven't gotten into many gunfights out in the open. Aside from wasting two bad guys with the shotty at a certain location and using the assault rifle in Iraq, all I've used up to this point while playing on Realistic level are the nifty gadgets and a couple of silenced pistols.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Wow!! this deniable ops mode is fun all I've been playin is the hunter mode and its extended the replay of the game.
Calling it hunter mode was a good idea because that's exactly what I am when playing this mode. And the Co-op is too fun!! been playin w/ my cuz before each playoff game and we been havin a ball haha!!
He's normally not into stealth games but this one has got him hooked. The teamwork needed is great and now he's gotten to the point where I don't have to babysit and the game is 10x more fun.
The best moments are when we perfectly line up the mark and execute kills. And now that he has the five seven we are unleashing on these guys. I love when things just break down and we go loud and just shoot our way out of situations.
The hunter mode feels more like the old Splinter cells b/c it forces you to think. Not just about your current situation but also how each one of your actions will effect the enemy patrols.
If you shoot out a light you have to risk an enemy hearing the glass shatter. If he does hear it and investigates you have to adjust how you will move thru that part of the level. The most tense moments are when you create some darkness and alert more then one enemy patrol especially in areas that lack hiding spots.
Not only that but when you kill a guard you don't want to just leave the body in just any old spot because you don't know if another patrol will notice it. If they do it may not only alert that patrol but his screams may get other guards attention.
The strategy you can use on this mode is awesome and its just plain fun when you can get thru a section by executing to perfection. If any of you guys still have the game check this mode out it is extremely fun if you play it with an open mind.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
To compound on the point Jano made before, Deniable Ops is the best mode of the game. Even when playing through on Realistic level, the single player Story mode is the simple appetizer in comparison to this. Great stuff. I'm still in the process of learning all the maps and various routes to take. I can see myself playing the Deniable Ops mode of Splinter Cell Conviction for a long time trying to complete as many P.E.C. Challenges as I can.
Needless to say that Deniable Ops is the mode I'll be exclusively be playing from here on out, whether through multiplayer or by myself. If anyone wants to team up and go at it co-op style add me to your Friends list.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Question, will this game ever get released for PS3? If not that peaves me off. I beat the previous 3 versons. Now the 360 gets exclusive rights? Now I know how the 2k fanboys feel. Just not right. I might have to borrow my friends 360 and rent it from GameFly or something. I did hear that a Ps3 verson will be released in the future though, so I'm holding out hope.Comment

I'll be downloading the new Insurgence maps soon.

The lights used in some of the maps are the ones you can't shoot out so it makes things difficult. And some of the areas are much more claustrophobic then on the previous maps so you really gotta watch yourself.
Its all good challenging fun though not something that takes a lot of trial and error just a lot of planning and thinking which is what I like. Hopefully they add even more maps later on cause I can play this mode for a while.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Heh, I welcome the added difficulty, so that's good news to me.
Whenever playing Hunter mode I pack only one silenced pistol (usually the MK23) with no alternative firearm. I have a few vanishing challenges I need to complete so I take the portable E.M.P. device and E.M.P. grenades along with me since they work well as my get-out-of-trouble gadgets if I'm on the verge of getting spotted in a well lit area.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I really want this game but I am looking for a deal. I don't want to pay full price for games anymore as I can't afford it. Ever since I heard this was in the works I have been anticipating its release. Now two months into release I still don't have the game mainly because games are too expensive.
If I catch a deal for this game I will pounce on it.My YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/gosjsharks14Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I finally got around to playing this yesterday and I really like what they have done for a 3PS. I know it's almost 1.5 years later since release, but the way cover is handled and many other aspects is well done. Hopefully they continue the elements here with what their doing for SC6.Comment
