Age of Empires??

I love strategy games like Risk and Civilization. I dont play much PC games but I just got a new laptop and I want to get a game. Ive been looking at Age Of Empires 3. is it a good game?

YES!! Get AoE 2. That way you can sharpen up your skills. Make sure that you get the gold edition because the fixes are in the second disc I believe. Rise of Nations is a great game too. I also try Empire Earth. Good to see a little love for RTS on the boards. Hey, if you get any of those games and want to play on the weekend, pm me.

Its my favorite of the series by far, and probably the second best RTS for me too, behind Starcraft.

I liked the first one the best...

On second thought AoE 2 was the best. But the first time I played AoE was a demo version and I never played a demo so many times or for so long. Great series.

This was/is one of my favorite games of all time. I literally played this game for seven hours straight. I have never played a game that long prior to this game. An absolutely great game!

I have the DS version of Age of Empires and it's fantastic. I know that doesn't really help though. LOL

This was/is one of my favorite games of all time. I literally played this game for seven hours straight. I have never played a game that long prior to this game. An absolutely great game!

We'd have LAN parties in college and play 3 on 3 all the time for hours.

AoE is good. But by far the best RTS imo out right now is Company of Heroes. It will rock your world.

Yup. Anything that is getting that much play almost 10 years after original release is pretty damn good. Not only is it my favorite RTS, its probably top 2 or 3 PC game of all time for me, as well.

I'm trying to get into Supreme Commander now. Not sure why, but I'm just not feeling it for some reason.
