Got embarrassed last night by Kashanova playing 2v2 cause I didn't know how to upgrade Overlords to Overseer. Overlords no longer can detect cloak units. Whoops.

Played more 2v2 and won the first four placement matches. I was worried I was going to win all 5 and get 'stuck' in the Gold league and just get trounced but luckily I came across 2 pro dudes that worked me and my partner pretty easily so went 4-1 and put into Silver.

I've mostly just played 1v1s for my placement. I think I won 2 and lost 3 - was placed in Copper. Not that I mind much - It's pretty much where I belong. If I had rushed in my placement matches I probably would have ended up in a higher league, but that didn't seem like such a good idea.

The main thing I'm having trouble with right now is the Zealot rush. I swear, I can't get enough Marines out to deal with them unless I throw a reactor on my first Barracks, which of course slows down the tech (Marauders and Reapers come from Tech Labs, the other rax add-on). So I'm pretty much forced into one early build if I'm playing against Toss.

....Oh, and Void Rays suck.

I've figured my only chance is to rush out and clobber slow/inferior opponents who have no clue what they are doing. Zerg rush = win. If the double rush doesn't work and I have to hunker down and tech up I usually get clobbered. Playing Zerg has its advantages though and Terran players especially always expect a rush so I could use it to my advantage economically speaking but with my lack of skill at the moment I still lose to decent players.

At the moment it is all about the first 5 minutes for me.

I found the MAC specs, realized that even on the minimum settings mine wouldn't come close to running it. I have thought about getting a new macbook for a little bit now, and the thought of being able to play Starcraft II is a nice thought. But even though my current computer is old and slow it still serves my basic needs. I am torn.

It does say they're bringing it back a few weeks before release day for some final testing, so it won't be quite over on the 31st.

I dunno...I'll probably play it some, but I don't want to burn myself out before release either.

Can't wait for this game to drop. I love this genre so much, although I am totally new at it for the most part. Seems like the strategy is sooooo deep.

I had completely forgotten about that prediction. I guess you can knock Blizzard for a lot of stuff (still refuse to buy SC2 until all three campaigns are in one package) but they are consistent with their release schedule (assuming everyone has forgotten about Ghost).
