Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
My computer can run it, but everything that has to dowith the graphics card has to be set to low. I plan on upgrading asap now for this game.
Any suggestions? I need something that pretty cheap but better than the GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 that came with my computer.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
Anything 8800GT or better will run this game very well. Here's a link to help. It's all the graphics cards ranked.

I bought a new tower a couple years ago with this card in the hope I would be able to play THIS game - thankfully it has not disappointed.
Edit: Three generations, now that I think about it - there's a 400 series of Nvidias out now, right?Comment

I don't know WTF I am doing. Lol!! Went through the tutorials and to know avail I am lost. Love the concept that this game offers just have to figure it out.
It runs on my cpu but I did get a message to turn down my settings to low. Now I just got to figure out what the heck to do.The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
It's kind of amazing to me that the 8800 still holds up so well with most games, SCII included, despite it being from TWO generations ago (the 9 series and the 200's, I think). That's like an eternity in video card terms.

The 8800gt isn't that old though, it came out at the end of 07, right after crysis I believe. It's considered one of the best cards nvidia has ever made and with good reason.
I think I may finish the campaign today on normal then I'll try and go back and pick up some of the achievements I missed before playing through on hard. Normal is actually pretty easy as there hasn't been any missions that I would call hard. I've lost a few because I let someone die who wasn't suppose to, but that's just me losing track of the hero I'm suppose to keep alive.
Originally posted by TracerBulletThanks for the info guys. Sadly CompUSA went the way of Circuit City where I live so I have to rely on the internet and Best Buy for electronics mostly. I think I have an idea about which cards I'll be looking for now in the next couple months. Sucks not having a job but hopefully I can have one by the time I start school again in September. For now though I'll just keep playing with the lower settings.Last edited by mudman; 07-30-2010, 02:46 PM.Comment

Yeah, there is no shame of playing on easy until you get the handle on things. There is a lot to learn.Comment

I don't know what all the trial includes either, but if you click the big single-player button and see a "play versus AI" anywhere on there then you can play the CPU in a multiplayer game.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
You could also try creating a game and then adding AI to it. The very easy Ai hardly do anything, I'm not even sure if they're still in the game (they were in the demo). I've never played the Easy AI, but if it's in between medium and Very easy then it shouldn't be too bad.
Just remember, when playing regular games (not single player) to get lots of workers. It's hands down the biggest mistake people make when learning the game. Can't make units if you have no money. Also, 2 barracks produces units faster than 1 barracks....ie, don't just make 1 barracks, 1 factory, 1 starport, etc. If you wanna go infantry, make multiple barracks, you wanna go mech, make multiple factories, air...multiple starports. Once you get your economy and troop production to an acceptable level the rest you'll learn by playing.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
Oh guys, I found out why I was getting my arse handed to me on Very Easy agaionst CPU. I kept doing the quick match aspect that makes the game run at very fast speed which in turn has the easy cpu going faster then normal. I finally just went to custom match and made it privat against the CPU and placed the speed on normal. Thats when it was the cake walk I expected from the CPU and allowed me to learn more of the buildings and units.
Also I noticed that I got more buildings and stuff on Single player then Multiplayer. Examples are the conceled Flame turrets and Bunker Defense guns. Just wonder if they are single player exclusive stuff?PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os
