Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
I assume you don't play SC all that much.
That's only if you play against noobs.
Teching to Carriers take a lot of time. And against pros or good amateur players, they'll wipe you out before you even get there. And assuming that you get there, good micro will end up smashing the Carriers to bits.
Some ways to stop Carriers: Scourges, mix of ground/anti-air (Devourers, Valkyries, Corsairs), and even better, Ghosts - Lockdown or Arbiter - Stasis Field. Now those Carriers are just immobile hunks of junk.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
Yeah, looks like the Protoss got a good overhaul for SC2.
I think the Dark Templars make a return (the unit that is). Otherwise it'd be a huge plothole if Zeratul just faded into oblivion. I think Carriers will make a return and will be overhauled.
I'm not sure if High Templars make a return... nor do I see Archons coming back if they're going by the reinvented Protoss if it's based on the destruction of Auir affecting their units.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
The Battlechest is less than $20?
Man, I still own my original SC (tossing around the idea of reinstalling as I speak), but I never played Broodwar. I doubt BW could be found separately anymore (without Ebay, which is not high on my priority list), so the best thing might be to get both of them.
Loved the mass ownage at the end of the video.Comment

Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced
Damn, I LOVED Starcraft back in the day, used to play it for hours. I used to be Terran most of the time. I never got good enough to learn how to properly play with Protoss, and I hate how Zerg was set up.
Can't wait till this one comes out, but it'll probably run crappy on my computer.Comment

Imagine, 3 hatcheries. Your zerg guys get wiped out and is left crippled, but you've got 3+ hatcheries. Each hatcheries can produce up to 3 units at once (in their eggs). Which means all at once you get to create 9 ultralisks at once from 3 hatcheries.
Compare that to your regular terran, protoss. They've buildings that produces only one at a time. Imagine your terran having 3 barracks. 3 marines at once.
3 hatcheries produce 9 ultralisks, while 3 barracks produces 3 marines.
Better yet, 3 hatcheries produce 18 zerglings at once.
That's the power of the zergs.Comment

If you do indeed understand the way of how the zergs are setup, dam it's deadly.
