Good call. Steam is the future! I just recently finished the campaign for the 2nd time. No two missions are the same. It is great!

so I just registered for Steam, my name is sportsdude33. I tried adding you but the site couldn't find anybody under "Xavier_12" so I dunno what to do. I was having a hard time registering so many the problem is on my end. Also, what's you SC2 name and id#? I'd like to add you. Since I work regular hours now I imagine the best time to meet up is on the weekends. I get done with work around the time you're going to bed probably. Also, not sure how much I'll be able to play until I get my new computer. Hopefully that happens soon but I need to take care of a few things first.

That's weird. I will add you and look for you this weekend. Everyone else let's do an OS evening!

Wanted to bump this to see if anyone still played...I just started playing again a few days ago, crappy graphics and all (getting 10 FPS max with the lowest settings). I was never that great to begin with, but knocking the rust off has been near impossible. I haven't won a 1v1 match yet

I haven't played since the Spring but I wouldn't mind jumping back into it this weekend.

At 10 FPS I am not surprised. Upgrade time?

If I could afford it I would, but I can only imagine what a laptop with a good graphics card goes for. I know Alienware laptops are in the $1,000+ range.

It's one of the few reasons I prefer the original StarCraft...never had any lag or anything of the sort.

You can get a PC to play SC2 that shouldn't break the bank. The PC I built 2 years ago was ~700 and it runs the game fine on medium-high settings.

That's not too bad. My laptop is only 3 years old, but it pretty much came with the bare minimum as far as graphics and sound go. I was looking into getting a GeForce card but found out that I have an Intel chipset which can't be replaced.

Blizzard should just release SC II with the original SC graphics

Check out ASUS laptops. Good performance at a good price. A friend of mine has the hardcore one and loves it.

Coincidentally I was on Kotaku tonight and saw this clip of the custom Starcraft MMO. I am definitely going to try this out:

                      Apparently it just went up!

I'll have to look into those. It'd be easier if I didn't have a gaming console to replace too

Yeah...i just got my ASUS and love it. I got it through Newegg(through bill me later to get 6 months no interest/no payments). So far plays everything on high.

                            Re: Starcraft II Officially Announced

So if you look back through this thread you'll see some whining from me because my computer wasn't good enough to play Starcraft II and I had to play on my roommate's computer. Well I got a new computer a week and a half ago and now I can run Starcraft II on max settings.

Right now I've been playing a lot of League of Legends but I'm definitely still into Starcraft II, and now that I have a normal schedule where I don't work weekends, I have nice stretches of time to play. Maybe we should work on setting up some OS games?

That'd be my ideal option (the bill me later thing), but I don't think I'd get accepted because of my credit. Not because it's bad, but because I only have one credit card and the limit isn't that high...I guess my student loans don't help either.

All the top players play on low setting, reduces lag and allows you to see buildings better
