I still don't get how a game can exist with pretty much no gameplay (bar the QTE's).

And I don't understand the 'chills' and 'next gen' type comments. You pretty much just sit and watch a movie with pretty average acting and when you do control the game, it is simply choosing a basic command here and there. I don't know how anyone can get chills from the quality of the acting here...
I thought the demo was solid, and it completely blew me away. While I agree that it is like a "CG movie", it is still clearly a "choose your own adventure"-type title. It is a very unique "gaming" experience and it is completely different then anything I have ever played before.

I play games to be entertained, regardless of how I have to play them. What are games most of the time? Interactive movies. Movies we can live though and come to a canned and already decided ending once complete. This is one of those games, with the only difference being that you actually get some say deciding the outcome.

The graphics are out of this world, while the voice acting is iffy in spots. I don't care. This game is going to be a day one purchase. I'm still in awe right now. Can't wait to see the finished version.

For a game that's all about dialog, the voice acting is not good at all. This demo was a disappointment.

I have to say the same. I'm trying to figure out where the hype derived from.

          From Sony.

Agree though. This game looked way cooler in the screens and reviews I read. May cancel preorder now and just focus on BFBC2 and MLB The Show instead. Save some bucks and wait for it to come down in price before I get it.

Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit was a sleeper hit and has a lot to do with the hype. It's also something different in a very "me too" and "play it safe" industry these days, so it stands out. It looks to improve on IP in just about everyway, all the while tackle more mature themes with real consequences. From the early French reviews and the forthcoming end to the review embargo with some journalists teasing how good it is, it seems Quantic Dream has very much succeeded.

              Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)

I don't really understand where all this complaining is deriving from. Everyone (or almost everyone) knew what this game was about and what it was going to be like. What did some of you expect, a hack-and-slash type experience?!

I knew, from day one, what type of game I was hyping myself up for. I knew it was going to be a quick-time game based of off real-time button prompts and whatnot. I knew there were going to be scenes and moments that are/were ho-hum. I don't understand what some of you were expecting. Better voice acting, perhaps? I dunno.

It is just a demo, afterall. I'm sure the actual final product will offer different degrees of gameplay and puzzles/riddles to solve. Still, some of you guys need to take it for what it is- a "movie-like" gaming experience with the highs and lows of an actual movie script. Absorb yourself into the game and treat it as such, and I'm sure it will be a lot more enjoyable for some. This is just my opinion, though. Treat it as such. Not everyone will enjoy this game. I, for one, will.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, though. That's what makes this such a great country (America, that is).

Very well said. This type of game isn't for everyone.

My complaints are about the voice acting, I knew how the gameplay was going to be but there's no reason for the voice acting to be as bad as it is, and that has nothing to do with it being a demo. I was going to buy this on day 1 but now if I get it, it will be after the price drops significantly.

                      To each his own.

But hey, at least you have a legit reason, I suppose. The voice acting is subpar at best in some spots in the demo, so I can see your gripe. But not all of it was terrible, IMO. I can see this being an issue with some people, though.

I'm sure the actual game will have a lot more to offer in terms of cinematics and voice-acting. I wouldn't let a scene or two in a demo be the deciding factor of getting this game on day one or not, though. I'm sure the positives will far outweigh the negatives in this game (or at least I hope).

Was pretty much exactly what I expected. Thought it was great.

As for these "it's not a game" comments, I think it's as much of a game as Dragon Age: Origins, except maybe MORE involving.

Agreed the voice acting is a little underwhelming, but if the story's good, I can look past that.

                        Positive experience.

Day 1 purchase for me. Sealed my pre-order.

                              Just... incredible.

With that said, controls are bad until you get used to them (even then, they're still bad) but not many other games suck you in like this one.

And have any of you went back and tried different scenarios? I was able to get different storylines with different choices.

Just... wow. Graphically, this game is even more amazing than I imagined.

That's not the meaning of constructive criticism.

I'm not too sure what people were expecting............the videos for the most part nailed down the gameplay for sure.
