Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
SpoilerJesus Christ, Ethan, how are you not dead? So far, the running injury count.
Severe Concussion from getting mack trucked in the ****ing face
Broken Ribs from another car accident. *sidenote: Ethan, dude, stay away from cars
Severe Electrical Burns
Slit wrists
Missing a damn pinky finger now.
This is like watching Saw, but all of this is happening to one person. It is depressing as all hell...but I am addicted! I think I'm going to finish up tomorrow since I just escaped Blake and Jayden in the subway.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
I love this game. The deeper I get into the story, the more intrigued I get and the more I wanna keep playing. The control scheme actually really adds to the immersive of it.Comment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
SpoilerI've only played about an hour, but I'm pretty sure the lil' guy is a goner.
Not going to lie, almost got a little choked up when he got hit. I have a child of my own, and it just really makes you think how you would act or feel.
By the way, lovin' this game so far. I pray more games go this route in the future. Maybe if this game does well enough (I'm sure it will), they'll make a sequel, or perhaps a franchiseLast edited by Pimpton23; 02-24-2010, 09:07 PM.Go Cavs, Go Browns, Go Tribe! Cleveland Rocks!

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Just "finished" the game. Going to play through it again, to make some different choices. I really hope that more games are made like this one. I know it isn't for everyone, but I really enjoyed the experience. It really leaves you breathless.
SpoilerI really do need to play through it again. I didn't do too well, lol. Only one character survived, and it was the Origami Killer. I freaking loved every minute of it though.Spoilerwait.. only the killer? way different from mines.Shelby and Jayden were the ones that were dead in mines. Which four are the main characters? Ethan, Madison, Shelby, and Jayden correct? Wonder how you would go about having them all alive at the end. But then again thats what makes this game so good.Comment

SpoilerIn my first playthough everybody but the Killer and Jayden lived. (I f'd up at Mad Jack's and Jayden died.)
In my the first part of my second playthrough everybody but the Killer and Ethan lived. (I f'd up Madison's escape from the cops)
In the second part of my second playthrough everybody but the Killer lived. I guess for game purposes it counts Shaun as one of the characters to live.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
I remember reading previews saying that the controls were going to be a sore point for the game. They couldn't have been more wrong. There are so many action sequences where the control scheme REALLY adds to the intensity and stress of a situation. There have been several occasion so far that have literally put me on the edge of my seat. Now, more than everComment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Game is okay.
The actual "game" parts of Heavy Rain work and work well, the action sequences for instance. More than anything, though, I came away from the experience thinking that just about any halfway decent movie (Se7en, Silence of the Lambs, even Pulp Fiction come to mind), if done in CGI and peppered with QTEs, would be a better game than this.
I can see where Heavy Rain might serve as a launching pad for a new genre, "interactive drama" as they're calling it, but there's just not enough here to truly think about (almost everything is spoon-fed to you), not enough real choices (tough moral dilemmas should have been rampant, not just scattered into a few scenes), and not enough challenge to really call this a "great game."

I'm pretty disappointed with how limited the control options were during that shower scene...Comment
