Two entirely different games and gameplay experiences. I think ME2 gives you more control and options over how to handle a situation but lacks a lot of the unpredictability and "choose your own adventure" elements of Heavy Rain (apart from ME2's ending, of course).
I think that in general, it's very unfair to both games to be compared to each other. They're completely different games, in different genres, with different styles. Like you and others have said, it's apples to oranges. The only thing that could possibly be compared between the two would be on a technical level (graphics, animations, etc.) and perhaps voice acting. Not sure what else is applicable, really. I think the comparisons between the two games need to be left alone. They're just too different.

On a direct Heavy Rain related note, I'm having a hard time deciding whether to pick this up or not. I know I will eventually, as I'm very intrigued by the story. But with the God of War III Ultimate Edition pre-ordered, plus MLB 10: The Show, there might not be enough funds. Gotta hope for a price drop soon!

My initial plan was to get Heavy Rain, beat it before The Show comes out and then sell it. So, basically rent it. But, once I started playing HR I knew within the first 3-4 hours that I would want to go through it another time (or two ). Now, my new plan is to hopefully play through the game again this weekend and maybe again at a later date. Selling it is definitely on the back-burner.

My thoughts exactly. I am definately going to play this at least 4-5 times the full way through. Just to see, do and experience everything. Getting all 22 endings is going to be a pain in the butt though. This is the GOTY to me since it is so different and nothing else on the market is like it.

Thaima, I wouldn't expect a price drop anytime soon. I do not know the figures but IGN just had an article about Sony being very pleased on how well the pre order sales were. Combine that with reading online of all the stores sold out.

I cant wait for the DLC to start coming out. Anything to add gametime to this great game.

Really great experience. I will probably wait awhile before replaying through again. I kind of wish I could forget eveything about it, just so I could go through it completely fresh again.

No offense, but you might have been expecting too much from a first of it's kind game. Quantic Dreams released a first/2nd of it's kind of game and first to the mainstream market. Kind of hard to get feedback from the masses until after the game is out. Now they can take notes from the objective criticsm to improve a sequel or another game of it's kind.

I greatly enjoyed the game. Sorry, if I wasn't wholly impressed with the graphics as others.

I wasn't quoting you about the graphics but about the scenes. I think the graphics are pretty great but not perfect. The mouths were pretty miss. The teeth looked funny and the kissing scenes looked unnatural.

I can only imagine how a sequel or a game of the same genre is going to be after QD is able to take peoples suggestions to heart.

I wasn't trying to compare this game to Mass Effect. My point to Odogg was that the 360 also has some graphically impressive games like Mass Effect 2.

                        What about the scenes?

My post was in regards to the graphics and performance (framerate). I expected better considering how limited scenes are and the amount of control given to the player.

I wasn't trying to single you out in my earlier post, Biohazard. I just felt that both games are getting lumped together a bit too much on the web these days, maybe it's because of the interactive fiction/decision making aspect of both, or the proximity of their release dates. Both games are similar in some respects, both graphicaly and conceptually, but are two entirely different gaming experiences as said before.

I've seen ME2 vs. HR as a topic of contention on these aforementioned uncivilized gaming forums and I didn't want it to spill over onto these boards so I added that element to the conversation. I didn't think I misinterpreted anything in yours or any other post...but if I did, I apologize.

I just think comments like "Xbox couldn't handle X game" are ridiculous. For example, when Assassin's Creed was first revealed people said that, then when Final Fantasy XIII was first revealed people said the same thing. Then when the games go multi-plat they look and play exactly the same.
