Question for XBox owners?

I need you guys help to decide, I stuck between choosing Splinter Cell or Halo. Which one would you recommend.
All these reviews I read on Halo make the game seem like pure gold, and SC is right under it.
My Case is, I love Tom Clancey games. I have raimbow six platinum pack and love those games and also Ghost Recon. Great game also. So I know I would like Splinter Cell. But after reading about the greatness that is Halo, I'm torn and cant decide. What makes Halo such a great game and would you get it before SC.
I plan on trading in NCAA 2k3 and NHL2k3(both Ps2) because they have'nt gotten any play in I dont know how long. Plus I'm gonna pick them up for Xbox for live sooner or later. so I figure I could get 15-20 bucks each off those games and narrow down the price of Halo or Splinter Cell.

Help me please. And thanks for any input.

You cant go wrong with either but I would say Halo.

Splinter Cell is very different from the Ghost Recon styles games. It is more like MGS2.

Make my vote HALO, as well.

I am a huge SC fanboy, but HALO is in a whole different class. It is a game you cannot pass up.

So Halo is Jesus of the Xbox huh?
I keep reading that if you have an Xbox and dont have this game, you're not a gamer or this is why I brought an Xbox over and over again. I know I cant go wrong with niether.
But I read that the story in Halo is great, and I like good stories in games. But I'm not the type of FPS fan who likes the enemies to be aliens. I'd rather have humans and blood.

Yea,I just bought Halo and it is excellent. The only down side(for me) was that sometimes the scenery was a little repetitive.

im embarrassed to say that i never bought halo, though i did rent it several times and beat it, so its all good. i do own sc, both are great games. like the other guys said though, you can't really compare them because they're different. can't really go wrong with either one though. the only thing is maybe the price of halo will drop i the spring once halo2 comes out if you wanna wait that long and get sc in the mean time

I would go with Halo. I've gone through that game several times, and it still hasn't gotten old to me. Its one of those classic games you can't miss.

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated. I think I might pick up Halo, still not convinced yet. But halo is in the lead. In The review I read,the reviewer said that you would'nt see what all the fuss is about simply looking at it, you need to sit and play it.
But from all the pics I seen. It seems you fight alot of aliens. I wanna kill humans dammit.
