Re: Mirror's Edge
I just got it from the UK store (they update earlier).
Need to be online for the time trail. I'll try that out when the NA store updates.
Graphics are outstanding, both technically and artisitcally.
Sixaxis is on by default, turned off pretty fast.
It's odd using L1 to jump but it works out.
Music is fitting and very well done. Was there something about a PS3 LE that came with the soundtrack? Or was that PS3 DLC? Is there a LE with the soundtrack?
I like Celeste better than Faith but I guess it doesn't much matter in first person view.
Running through it a second time it's extremely short.
This is pretty cool overall and a lot better than I thought it would be. Still would've perfered a 3rd person camera. There were a few parts where I couldn't tell the jump timing because I couldn't really see the first time but the second time it wasn't a problem. Combat wasn't encouraged,I punched a guy out of the way but that's it,I think I'll take a 3rd run and shoot someone.Comment

Mirror's Edge
Demo was put on XBL today and PSN yesterday, anyone play it? I thought it was fun as hell.. Probably not worth a buy but I could see myself spending some time with it due to how fun it is.Comment

Re: Mirror's Edge
I got bored really fast with this game. Bummer, I was intrigued and somewhat looking forward to it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Mirror's Edge
I can't get enough of this. I've played the demo about a dozen times now. Still can't believe how DICE managed to pull this off so well in 1st person and with the emphasis being on movement, it's going to be such a fresh experience. With there being so many games though, I will probably have to rent it.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Mirror's Edge
Played the demo (PS3) and loved it. I have been looking forward to this game and it played better than I thought it would.
Now I just have to decide if I should get it for the PS3 or the 360. I have yet to try the 360 demo. If the control scheme is the same I would think jumping with the LB might be odd? I love the 360 controller but I am not sure if maybe the PS3 pad might be better for this game.
Does anybody know if there are any significant technical differences between the consoles versions? What was the lead platform?Comment

Re: Mirror's Edge
I preferred the DS3, but I thought it controlled fine on 360 and didn't have a problem with LB as jump. I noticed the 360 has ever so slightly better IQ with less shimmering. But yeah, like goh said, you're getting exclusive Time Trial Mode DLC for the PS3.
I hope this game shows other developers that your game can look different using UE3 and the lighting is superior to other games using the engine, even Gears.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Mirror's Edge
The game was beautiful and it does it's thing well. I can see it being frustrating with the trial and error though. I died more than a few times because I jumped from a building a split second early, or I missed a pipe because I jumped too far to the left. I'll gamefly it for sure, and maybe keep it if the price is $40 or so.Last edited by bkfount; 11-01-2008, 12:59 PM.Comment
