I just read that Vampire Rain has a 30 minute install that takes up 5GB as well. Saw that on the Gamespot review.

These are getting completely out of hand.

They mentioned the Xbox version of this game was no more than 6GB on the disc so why install 5GB on the HDD? They didn't add that much stuff.

Are these developers stupid or lazy? Look at TNA Impact, 17 minute install and they say it still runs bad on the PS3.

It's a way to get around the lack of Hardware processed graphical effects. Since the 360 handles these effects in hardware, the PS3 version of similar games need to have the game's data on the HD to make room.

A sacrifice but seemingly necessary.

Oh I know why they do it, I just question it. It's a lot easier to unload 5GB of data on the HDD and stream it from there then figure out how to split the data between the RAM, HDD, and BR.

There are a couple games out there with better graphics than BioShock but yet 1/5 the install data.

I'm not against installations but 5GB is pushing the limit, especially for a game that was 6GB big when first released. MGS was understandable because of the large size of the game itself.

Bought this game like 1.5 years ago and finally beat it. I played it hardcore then for some reason got busy and stopped playing. I have been putting on quotes from the game on FB all week

so watching my friend play some Bioshock 2 got me interested in these games. I had played the demo for the original but decided not to get it since Halo 3 was dropping soon after it. I thought the demo was fun but never decided to pick it up until now. I'm glad I decided to finally get this game.

I went ahead and got Bioshock 2 to play some multiplayer in it but hadn't started the single player, wanted to beat the original first. I finally got the original today and started playing, now I see why everybody loved it so much. The atmosphere is just amazing in this game, the graphics are great and it's a lot of fun.

That explains it, I saw you playing Bioshock and thought something was wrong w/my Xbox because it didn't say "Bioshock 2"..lol

I guess Im late to the party. Finally got this game and was playing it today. Its really good and I cant believe Im just now playing it.

I did the same thing. Easily one of the greatest games I have played.
