Not gonna quote the semispoiler, but I'm playing on Normal and it's hard enough to beat some BD's without using VitaChambers (i guess that's my compromise, no VC's, but playing on normal). I can't imagine the game on Hard, that must be insane. The first BD musta been so rough.

How are you beating the first BD in Neptune on hard? The one in the wharf area with the 2 mini guns at each end? I hack the mini guns and use rage on anyone that runs in, but the BD rips through them and blows up the guns in no time barely knocking even 1/4 of his health off. Fire and shock don't do much damage. I guess I just need better rounds? Using the tommy gun on him, it seems like I would need 300+ regular rounds to take him down. I did find the grenade launcher a little later in the level, but even that doesn't do much damage on hard.

I just waited until he walked down the bridge and was in the area between the two turrets. He was fighting with some splicers and I just unloaded on him from a distance. Make sure you have your telekinetic plasmid equiped as he will throw some grenades at you every once in a while.

Took me a couple tries, but I actually beat 2 there. I took down the first one and let the LS go, but then a second sister less one comes in, had to take him out too Those guys weren't that hard, just shock 'em, backpedal while shooting, and repeat. I go through about 4 eve's and 4 health packs. But facing the ones that shoot back...I can't find a way to take them down.

Anyone playing on hard have any tips for BD's other than get the anti armor and exploding/electric shot gun shells?

I've noticed that occasionally there are BD without a Little Sister, so it's possible you killed one of those? I just leave them alone unless they're clearly escorting a Little Sister (who can hear talking to the BD usually before you see them).

That may have been what happened. The Big Daddy fights are so frantic that I didn't even notice until after I killed it.

I plant some proximity mines and make them run into them, and then fight them from a distance and strafe back and forth, every so often they will throw proximity mines at you, just use telekenesis and launch them right back. Then if they some how get close to me I use the electric buckshot to the head.

What I think is cool so far is that each BD is different...so no single strategy will always work, it's just a matter of finding some sort of weakness

I am finding the BD's that shoot you and throw explosives SO much easier than the very first one that just chases you relentlessly and drills you. If they were all like that first one it would be insane.

pretty sure you can go to options and change it at will without restarting?

it's 11:45 and this game is scaring the rap out of me. the atmosphere and the voices are really creepy.

Would you mind PM'ing me with that info? I killed a Big Daddy last night when I got to Neptune's Landing and don't remember seeing the Little Sister.

how did you do it? i have the same issue....i waited for him to knock to bring her out b4 guns blazing but she never came out....

Since it's not a spoiler might as well post it here. But for those that want to figure it out on their own, stop reading!





Nothing fancy. I went a little ahead, died and returned to that same area. There was another Big Daddy just walking around. I waited for the girl and 10 seconds later or so he went up to a wall with the hole and banged on it. A second later the girl came out. After that it was bye bye big daddy.

I think the first time I screwed up because I threw that power at the Big Daddy so it protects me for a little bit.
