Everyone add me please. I've broke open the wrapper and put a good hour and a half in this evening. Damn, do I suck. Only one kill so far. I'm just running around aimlessly, picking up rocket launchers, jumping in Warhawks, etc. It's a freaking blast, but it'd be more enjoyable playing with those names I recognize.

A couple questions. I can't get the headset to work. Any suggestions? I have charged it by the way.

My Warhawk seems to drive slower than my grandpa used to drive me to breakfast. I'm double tapping R2 but I still don't seem to boost fast enough. I see Warhawks spinning and diving like I'm watching an air show. Me, I'm just out for a Sunday fly.

I'll let someone else handle the mic question, but...

Dumb question - are you in jet or hover mode? Once you get in a Warhawk, you have to press triangle to switch from hover to jet. After that, the holding the R2 will speed you up, and double tapping (and holding after the second tap) will trigger the afterburners (blue flame), which is probably what you see other people using.

Hope that helps. And yeah, I do some of the flashy air show stuff too - my favorite is flying completely upside down (using pro flight) . Problem is, sometimes I'll fly straight into a wall while doing that crap, but fortunately it takes about 3 good whacks to kill yourself from full health.

By the way, what's up with the SCEA servers that say there are openings available (i.e. 28 in, 32 max) but I'm unable to join?

800 servers. Thousands of people online. You're probably a bit late. I usually join servers that have 7-10 spots available.

Okay...ranks are definitely messed up. I finally got the warhawk recruiting ribbon, and have more than enough points, but I still didn't get Sergeant. I was in a ranked SCEA server, too.

Well, at least it's still so much fun to just play the game, without worrying about rank..

Ranks seem to be updated at certain times of the day. I made sergeant in a game on 8/31, but when I logged in on 9/1 is when it showed me with the rank and customization options. Must update servers once a day.

Yes, the SCEA servers are blue. And no, the limit is not 8 for dogfighting. I've been in a room of 24 and 32.

My only complaint about this game, is it took me nearly 20 minutes to get into a SCEA server last night. But once I did, I played for about 2 hours straight. Didn't want to quit when I did, but knew I'd be dragging *** this morning if I stayed on.

The best thing I can suggest is like I said earlier, create a private password protected room for yourself. Select pro controls and get busy. Also remember in a live game, ground troops are locking onto your aircraft as well. Pay attention to your location. If you are over hostile territory be prepared to be locked on by ground and air troops. This is where pro controls come in handy coupled with the environment i.e. mountains and buildings and spastic maneuvers.

I need some tips on finding out where people are hiding etc. Like reading the maps and what to look for.
