Definitely looking forward to this one. The first one was a blast. Hard to believe it was 7 years ago since it was released.

A little bit of nostalgia when the previewer mentioned the cops coming after you for running a red light...lol

The PC version of Mafia was good stuff. The console version, not so much.

Absolutely fabulous first game. Only thing I didn't love was all the missions you went on, both complex and simple tasks, seemed like something always went wrong and there was a shootout. I would like to run some jobs where I'm just picking up a delivery or wacking a guy and the entire enemy mob doesn't pop up out of nowhere and mows me down.

Does Europe make better games? It seems like studios overseas makes better games because they have a longer timeline to make games. Maybe something to do with the A.D.H.D. U.S. market and the impulsive actions to get games out for sale as soon as possible?

            Godfather II seemed very rushed

Was watching gametrailers tv last night on spike tv and they were talking about the game and was disappointed to hear their was no multiplayer. Was looking forward to this game and will still give it a rent at least but to have no multiplayer nowadays is a sin.

Well, a couple things parts of Europe has going for them: smaller wages and, in some cases, major tax advantages. In the case of this game, the per capita GDP of the Czech Republic is about half of the US'. It all adds up to more money and more time.

Online multiplayer is overrated. I think that's why many games are too short, the developers put too much emphasis on multiplayer and not enough into developing the single player experience.

I don't think multiplayer is overrated look at the success of COD. If that game was single player only it wouldn't be nearly as successful as most people look at that game as a multiplayer experience same with battlefield. Now Uncharted will be getting multiplayer and possibly dead space in their sequels . I like single player but multiplayer is what decides if it is a buy or not as that is where I spend most of my time and every so often I will play single player. Everyone has a different preference just mine is more towards multiplayer.

COD is different, it's a shooter. Any shooting game eventually got boring just playing offline and needs some competition. Games that you free roam in like Mafia, Saints Row, or even GTA they still have replay value just playing single player. Heck, I enjoyed the past GTA games even though they never had multiplayer, but I got bored of GTA IV due to the lack of replay value in single player and multiplayer was just broad to me.

I agree with your comments as I would more likely buy a single player game that has a large world and many hours of play like GTA, Oblivion & Fallout. It's games that are only like a 8 to 10 hour experience that I wouldn't purchase unless it had a multiplayer component that was well done. I just hope Mafia 2 has many hours of play which it should have. Like I said it all depends what your after in a game as everyone has different needs and likes.

I see. Interesting. I'm going to put much more of my criteria preference in a game based on developer location
